However, shortly after arriving, he encounters a Stooge and affirms he had a bad feeling about the invitation, suspecting a Rabbid was behind it. In the lobby, Rayman meets Rabbid Mario and Rabbid Peach, who he is initially uneasy with until Beep-0 assures him that these particular Rabbids are heroes. The Phantom soon arrives, who Beep-0 and the Rabbids recognize as their enemy from Spooky Trails, although the Phantom claims he was under the Megabug's influence and has now changed for the better. The Phantom requests the heroes' help in getting rid of Darkmess in three studio sets and boosting the network's viewership. | ||

He, however, betrays them and reveals that he had been plotting revenge for his defeat in Spooky Trails. He used the heroes to get rid of the Darkmess in the studio so he could broadcast it and draw power from the viewership. The heroes enter a final battle with the Phantom, who sings a song insulting Rayman for losing his fame to the Rabbids, as well as later also insulting Beep-0, Rabbid Mario, and Rabbid Peach. By turning off the stage lights, the heroes eventually defeat the Phantom for good. | ||

Rabbid Mario and Rabbid Peach play identically to how they do in the main game, although their Skill Trees are shortened to incorporate multiple upgrades in one slot. All Sparks from the main game and The Last Spark Hunter are available from the start, along with two new Sparks Selfie and Cryoquake. Rayman cannot equip Sparks, although he does has two costume abilities which give him exclusive Techniques and enhance his basic attacks. Level 10 is the heroes' maximum level and level 3 is the Sparks' maximum level. | Rabbid Mario and Rabbid Peach play identically to how they do in the main game, although their Skill Trees are shortened to incorporate multiple upgrades in one slot. | |||
After the first completion of a Quest battle past the "Golden Ticket to Fame" main Quest (with the exceptions of the "Space Opera Network Drifting Gateway" Quest and the battle with the Phantom), a ratings cutscene will play, in which the Phantom observes and comments on increased ratings for the Space Opera Network. The ratings meter on the right side of the screen will increase with each battle won. After all possible battles have been cleared, the meter will reach its peak, and the ratings for the Space Opera Network will reach their full potential. After the Phantom's defeat, Rayman takes his place instead. | |||

|
Phantom | |||

They are also highly mobile and can climb up to higher ground. Their appearance resembles cowboys and bandits during the Wild West time period. One notable Bravado known as "Iron Hands" Sydney Rabbidwhacker is the bandits' leader of the Western Set show "The Ballad of Plungerhands McMurdy". They are weak to Frostbite and resist Gust. | |||

==Bosses== | |||
There are a total of three bosses in the Rayman in the Phantom Show DLC. The Phantom has three forms during battle. | |||

|A larger version of a Flamin' Stooge meant to resemble a dragon. Due to budget constraints, the Giant Flamin' Stooge fills in for a CG dragon in the Medieval Set show, "The Double Marriage of the Careless Shepherdess". Like other giant enemies, it is resistant to all Super Effects and cannot be Dashed at. Its attack causes a fiery explosion that deals area damage, as well as inflicting the Burn Super Effect. | |||
|- | |||
|
Kraken | |||
|A large cardboard prop based on the Kraken. It is in the Pirate Set show, "Captain Opera-Beard and the Bumbling Brigands of Toilet Water Bay". Due to the infiltration of Darkmess, it is covered in Darkmess Eyes. The heroes throw Darkmess Eggs at the Darkmess Eyes to remove them, but a Darkmess Puddle appears afterwards. They then must clear it out in a battle against the Kraken. The Kraken has Darkmess Eyes on its back that must be removed to win. Every turn, the Kraken rotates 90° in a set direction. Every two turns, the Kraken becomes angry and attacks the surrounding islands by sending a large wave, bouncing and damaging heroes in range. | |||

Rayman in the Phantom Show is the third and final DLC of Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope, released on August 30, 2023. This DLC takes place after the events of the main story and involves Rayman joining forces with Rabbid Mario, Rabbid Peach, and Beep-0 in the Space Opera Network and help the Phantom clear the studio of Darkmess.
Plot[edit]
Rayman arrives at the Space Opera Network with a rocket after receiving a golden ticket inviting him to the network.
Once the heroes purge the Darkmess from the Western Set, Pirate Set, and Medieval Set, the Phantom invites them to a party in his control room out of gratitude for saving the network.
Rayman expresses it was nice to fight alongside Rabbids for once, and decides to remain in the Space Opera Network to supervise the Rabbids who are trying to do good, while Beep-0, Rabbid Mario and Rabbid Peach use a warp portal to return to the Mushroom Kingdom. As they part ways, Rabbid Peach gives Rayman a Mario Cap, while Rayman gives the Rabbids a copy of his hoodie.
Gameplay[edit]
Rabbid Mario and Rabbid Peach play identically to how they do in the main game, although their Skill Trees are shortened to incorporate multiple upgrades in one slot. All Sparks from the main game and The Last Spark Hunter are available from the start, along with two new Sparks Selfie and Cryoquake. Rayman cannot equip Sparks, although he does has two costume abilities which give him exclusive Techniques and enhance his basic attacks. Level 10 is the heroes' maximum level and level 3 is the Sparks' maximum level.

New characters[edit]

Name | Description |
---|---|

Phantom |

Quiz Host |
A red Spark that hosts a trivia contest in the Main TV Studio. It does not join the heroes after the Quiz Show!!! Quest is completed. |
Movie Director |
A blue Spark that directs the movie "Spit-Bucket Boy 3" in the Backing Studio. It does not join the heroes after the Boxing Ring Quest is completed. |
New enemies[edit]
Only one new enemy is introduced in the Rayman in the Phantom Show DLC, being the Bravado.
Name | Description |
---|---|
Bravado |
A Scoper variant that attacks at long range with the Gust Super Effect. Whenever they are attacked by weapons, they will immediately retaliate with their Counter Blow passive ability. |
Bosses[edit]
There are a total of three bosses in the Rayman in the Phantom Show DLC. The Phantom has three forms during battle.
Name | Description |
---|---|
Giant Flamin' Stooge |
A larger version of a Flamin' Stooge meant to resemble a dragon. Due to budget constraints, the Giant Flamin' Stooge fills in for a CG dragon in the Medieval Set show, "The Double Marriage of the Careless Shepherdess". Like other giant enemies, it is resistant to all Super Effects and cannot be Dashed at. Its attack causes a fiery explosion that deals area damage, as well as inflicting the Burn Super Effect. |
Kraken |
A large cardboard prop based on the legendary sea monster of the same name. |
Swingin' Phantom |
A Jazzy form of the Phantom that attacks with basic projectiles and disables the heroes' Spark Powers and Techniques. |
Rockin' Phantom |
A heavy metal form of the Phantom that attacks with Burn based attacks and repels heroes within range of him, as well as disabling their weapons. |
Final Phantom |
The Phantom in his normal opera form. His attacks disable attacks, Spark Powers and Techniques all at once, and can use his "Fright Sight" Technique to attack heroes that move within his range. |
New Sparks[edit]
Two Sparks are obtained in the Rayman in the Phantom Show DLC. Quiz Host and Movie Director are not listed, as they do not join the heroes.
Spark | Description | Location | Power | Bonus | How to unlock |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Cryoquake |
A plump, cyan Spark whose lower half is covered in snow and frost. His ability is Shockwave Frostbite, which applies the Frostbite Super Effect. | Space Opera Network | Shockwave Frostbite | Frostbite Protector | At the start of Unlikely Team-Up. |
Selfie |
A navy Spark with a leash that features Beep-0's likeness and a golden whistle. His ability is Self-Service, which can spawn a doppelganger of a hero. | Space Opera Network | Self-Service | Critical Buddy | At the start of Unlikely Team-Up. |
Memories[edit]
Below is a list of all 14 Memories that can be obtained in the Rayman in the Phantom Show DLC. Due to JEANIE's absence, Beep-0 reads their descriptions instead.
Name | Description | How to obtain |
---|---|---|
The Space Opera Network |
After decades of poor ratings, the Space Opera Network bet everything on a live comback concert by the Phantom. It wound up in bankruptcy with the opera singer as its largest creditor. Rumor has it that afterwards, the Phantom held a live telethon where viewers paid GOBS of money to have him stop singing so the network would return to its original programming, making him a small fortune. | SALESBOT 9.99+TX |
Rayman |
This Rayman character is fascinating indeed. He has hands, but no arms - at least none that I can see. He has feet, but no legs. He has different costumes, each of which enhances his fighting abilities in various ways. Rayman came to the Space Opera Network the same way we did - by invitation. However, he is far less trusting of our circumstance - probably just nerves brought on by stage fright. | SALESBOT 99.9+TX |
Bravados |
Where's JEANIE now, I wonder? Probably making all kinds of unauthorized changes to the WM ARC. I shall therefore have to do my best with the enemy analysis. The Bravados are detestable little long-range fighters that are always on the move, climbing to elevated positions from which to fire upon us from medium-range, where we remain under constant threat of their counter attacks and Gust super effects. | SALESBOT 99.9+TX |
Giant Flamin' Stooge |
Budget cuts at the Space Opera Network necessitated the last-minute procuring of a Giant Flamin' Stooge as a primary antagonist when a prospect of an animated dragon becomes too expensive. The Giant Flamin' Stooge has formidable scene presence, thanks to its terrifying weapon and area-of-effect fire attacks. Its strategy is simple - shoot Heroes in range and to have them scatter away from cover. | SALESBOT 9.99+TX |
The Kraken |
I um... I don't know what to say about THIS, other than I'm fairly certain it's a set piece from the low budget sci-fi film "The Robot vs. the Kraken vs. the Bride of the Giant Shrinking Man". The prop department has stuck some Darkmess Eyes on the Kraken, giving it an even more bizarre and yet menacing appearance than in the film. | SALESBOT 99.9+TX |
The Phantom |
The Phantom has been quite busy since we last saw him at Spooky Trails - a whirlwind relationship with Bea, the Warden of Terra Flora; co-host of the annual Galactovision song contest; and an album (A Thousand Hours of Mario Falling Into Lava), all under the watchful eye of the paparazzi. And most recently? Director of the Space Opera Network. Whatever you might say about him - he knows how to milk his 15 minutes. | Behind a cracked wall in the Main TV Studio; found close to the entrance to the Pirate Set. |
Plungerhands McMurdy |
The show using this set is entitled The Ballad of Plungerhands McMurdy. A typical episode involves the titular character strolling into a small town looking for respite, only to tangle with a greedy "indoor plumbing baron". Galaxy Confidential called it "adequately entertaining", and gave the show its "Nice To Have On In The Background" Award (honorable mention). | Near Victor in the Western Set. |
The Careless Shepherdess |
The show broadcast from this set is entitled The Double Marriage of the Careless Shepherdess - an hour-long musical dramedy in which the Phantom plays "Cyprien Fairclough", a young swashbuckling prince with a voice like a nightingale and throngs of female admirers. Let's just say it involves a LOT of makeup, stuntpeople, reverse-aging technology, and award-winning editing to get viewers to buy into the concept. | At the Medieval Set. |
Captain Opera-Beard |
The show utilizing this set is Captain Opera-Beard and the Bumbling Brigands of Toilet Water Bay. It's won several awards, I think - not so much for its acting, music, writing, direction, humor, or overall quality - but its wardrobe and sound mixing are top notch, and have helped the show maintain an iron grip on the top spot with viewers during the Wednesday 02:00 - 03:00 a.m. time slot. | Behind a cracked wall in the Pirate Set. |
Morning Galaxy Magazine |
These sets were from a show called Morning Galaxy Magazine With The Phantom! An insipid tabloid. Let's see, DJ Cheep Tuna was a guest, the artist Gerspard... Sullivan's Train Talk? Cooking with Alkementor? Even Sweetlopek and the Dryad had a show - "Building A Bridge To Love!" EVERYONE was invited on this stupid thing but us! | Behind a cracked wall located near Sweetlopek and the Dryad. |
S.O.N. Movie-of-the-Week |
The prop warehouse fills me a sense of déjà vu - and now I realize why! The warehouse is FILLED with props and set pieces modeled after our OWN adventures! The Space Opera Network optioned the rights to our life stories for a film. It appears to be stuck in turnaround - GOOD! They sent us the script - they replaced me with a wise-cracking parrot in order to make me "warmer and more relatable". Can you imagine?! | Behind a gate in the Backing Studio. |
Spark Road Trip |
We discovered that when packing for a trip, it's extremely difficult to decide which Sparks to bring. In the end we brought them all, including two brand new Sparks we saved after the conclusion of our adventure versus Cursa - Selfie and Cryoquake. We thought it'd be fun for the Sparks to have a little R' n' R after everything. Goodness knows they deserve it. | Clear the Unlikely Team-Up battle. |
The Phantom 2 |
The Phantom lured Rayman, Rabbid Mario, Rabbid Peach, and myself to the Space Opera Network under false pretenses, so we might boost the viewership from which he draws his power. Should his spotlight have grown any larger, he would have become invincible. Fortunately, I chose the perfect moment to strike. Once again, I was onto him from the onset! | Defeat Phantom. |
The Golden Tickets |
I wish I could say we had a fair and reasoned discussion about how to use the three golden ticket invitations to the Space Opera Network, but as Rabbid Mario and Rabbid Peach were the only Heroes with me when I received the transmission, we elected to tell the others AFTER we warped there. I suppose we got carried away, but let's be honest - some of us Heroes naturally dazzle on screen, others... not so much. | Clear the All Hands Ahoy! battle. |
