It is an organization of armed forces led by Bowser. The Minions repeatedly try to conquer the Mushroom Kingdom and sometimes other areas, with their goals based mainly on Bowser's own interests. Not all members of the Minions are Koopas, although they serve as the majority of them and also often have high-ranking roles. According to official character books, the army is led by the Turtle Tribe, with older material indicating the members of Bowser's "royal family" as leaders. In both Super Mario Pia and Encyclopedia Super Mario Bros., the "royal family" term is missing, and in general, the organization of Bowser's army is no longer explained, with the former reconfirming that the Turtle Tribe still leads it. As shown in New Super Mario Bros., Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, and Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey, when Bowser is absent, Bowser Jr. takes leadership of the Minions. It is also implied in Paper Mario: The Origami King that Bowser Jr. has his own army within the Minions.
The Koopa forces differ between appearances, though Goombas and Koopa Troopas consistently appear as the most common and basic troops. More elite troops of the organization consist of, for example, Hammer Bros and Magikoopas. Aside from Bowser and Bowser Jr., other notable members have been shown to hold positions of authority and leadership within the organization's hierarchy. The most prominent examples include the Koopalings (particularly common in the case of the 2D platformers) and Kamek (especially in the case of the Yoshi franchise). Other species-specific monarchs/chiefs, such as Goomboss, King Boo, King Bob-omb, Whomp King, and Petey Piranha also exist within the Minions, still acting under Bowser.
On some occasions, Bowser has teamed up with others (such as Antasma in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team) to achieve a common goal, while in other occasions, the control of the army was forcibly taken by someone else (such as King Olly in Paper Mario: The Origami King). Instances of the latter usually have Bowser temporaily team up with Mario and his friends to regain control of the Minions.

Bowser's Minions are best known as the main antagonistic group in the Super Mario series, invading various kingdoms under the command of Bowser. They generally compose the bulk of the enemies that Mario must defeat, although it is often left unclear if an enemy is part of Bowser's Minions or local to the invaded territory, if not both. They are most commonly represented by enemies such as Goombas and Koopa Troopas. They are most often led by Bowser, Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings, although other bosses have also appeared occasionally.
Most commonly, Bowser's Minions have invaded the Mushroom Kingdom in Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, Super Mario 64, New Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Galaxy, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Super Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Bros. 2, New Super Mario Bros. U, Super Mario Run and Super Mario Odyssey. Other places invaded by Bowser's Minions include the Mushroom World (in Super Mario Bros. 3), Dinosaur Land (in Super Mario World), Isle Delfino (in Super Mario Sunshine), various Galaxies across the universe (in Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2), the Sprixie Kingdom (in Super Mario 3D World), various kingdoms cross the Earth (in Super Mario Odyssey), Lake Lapcat (in Bowser's Fury) and the Flower Kingdom (in Super Mario Bros. Wonder).
Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels and Super Mario Bros. 3 predate the use of "Bowser's Minions" as the term referring to the enemies present in these games, instead using "Turtle Tribe" or "Turtle Empire" to fill the same role.
In Super Mario Run, one of the Weekend Spotlights in the Remix 10 mode focuses on Bowser's Minions, with the Super Bonus Game exclusively offering statues of species that are part of Bowser's Minions during these periods.

In [[The Super Mario Bros. On one occasion, they also went by Koopa Troopers and Team Koopa. In the show, all of the members (except for King Koopa) are somewhat unintelligent. Like in the mainline Super Mario platformers, Bowser's Minions appear as the main enemies in the Yoshi franchise and are led by Baby Bowser, who is cared for by Kamek. Kamek sends his Toadies to steal Baby Mario or the other babies from Yoshi and the other Yoshis as they adventure through Yoshi's Island to save Baby Luigi, and the stork from Bowser's Minions and help the baby brothers reunite with each other. The composition of the troop follows somewhat different trends in the Yoshi franchise than the mainline Super Mario platformers. For example, Shy Guys appear as the most commonly encountered and basic enemy in the Koopa Troop instead of Goombas and Koopa Troopas.
===Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars / Super Mario RPG===
During Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and its remake, Bowser's Minions are taken over by the Smithy Gang when they invade Bowser's Keep via Exor. Over the course of the game, Bowser slowly loses the remainder of his Minions, with the Terrapin leader Jagger and Goomba leader Goomhilde defecting, while Magikoopa leader Wizakoopa is brainwashed by the Smithy Gang to defend Bowser's Castle.
=== | By the time Bowser is met at Booster Tower, there are no more remaining Minions by his side. He is then forced to become allies with Mario, Mallow, and Geno in order to regain his troops, although he claims they actually joined him and are now members of his army. Bowser regains control of his troops after Smithy is defeated, and they go about repairing his castle.
===Mario Party series===
Koopa Kids act as Bowser's primary minions throughout the Mario Party, with many of them accompanying him in Mario Party, Mario Party, Mario Party 2, Mario Party 3, Mario Party 4, Mario Party 5, Mario Party 6, Mario Party Advance, and Mario Party 7, though several other minions appear in various games in the series.
====Mario Party==== | |||
In Mario Party, one of Bowser's Goomba minions appears on Peach's Birthday Cake and sells "Strawbery Seed decorations" for 30 coins, which grow Piranha Plants. The Goomba also hosts the Flower Lottery, congratulating players and forcing them to see Bowser and purchase the Bowser Cake if they "win". On Eternal Star, seven Koopa Kids guard the Stars for Bowser, challenging the players for them.
====Mario Party 2==== | |||
In Mario Party 2, a Koopa Kid appears where the Star Space was on boards and takes 5 coins from the player when they pass. Later on, several Koopa Kids kidnap Toad following Bowser's orders and appear as hosts, bankers and shopkeepers in Bowser Land. A few of Bowser's Minions can be seen in Bowser Land, with several also being depicted as floats in the Bowser Parade.
====Mario Party DS====
In Mario Party DS, Bowser's Minions appear as bosses, attempting to prevent Mario and friends from reaching Bowser's Castle and returning to their original size.
====Mario Party 9==== | |||
In Mario Party 9, playable characters Shy Guy and Magikoopa act as Bowser's Minions in the game's Solo Mode, stealing back the Mini Stars from the heroes for Bowser if either of them wins in a board. Bowser also sends his minions to each location throughout story mode to deal with the heroes and guard the Mini Stars. Bob-omb Factory is also stated to be a base of Bowser's Minions where things such as Bob-ombs are produced.
====Mario Party: Island Tour====
In Mario Party: Island Tour, several of Bowser's Minions, also referred to here as Bowser's underlings, appear as guards in Bowser's Tower after its creation near the Party Islands. Bowser also creates bubble clones of the playable characters to challenge the player using his bubble machine at the top of the tower.
====Mario Party 10====
In Mario Party 10, Bowser's Minions appear as bosses guarding the Fortresses and Castles on each board. Minions such as Lava Bubbles and Charvaarghs appear as obstacles on Chaos Castle.

====Mario Party Superstars====
In Mario Party Superstars, the Goomba minion from Peach's Birthday Cake returns, once again hosting the Flower Lottery. If the player wins the Flower Lottery, the Goomba asks them to give Bowser his best.
====Super Mario Party: Jamboree====
In Super Mario Party Jamboree, Bowser's Minions, led by Kamek, aid in setting up and running the party's boards. Several shops and other services are also ran by Bowser's Minions, such as Koopa Troopas and Boos. Bowser's Minions can also be seen operating in King Bowser's Keep.

In Paper Mario, Bowser’s army is known as the Koopa Corps<ref name="PM Koopa Corps">{{cite|quote=Koopa Corps. Presents... They take over the Mushroom Kingdom after Bowser steals the Star Rod, captures Princess Peach by lifting her castle from the ground and seals the Star Spirits into cards. Throughout the game, Bowser’s army stand in Mario’s way by hiding each of the Star Spirits away in different places. In Bowser's Castle and Princess Peach's Castle, they are primarily represented by Koopatrols, Hammer Bros., and blue Magikoopas, occasionally joined by others. During Chapter 7, Lakilester, a Lakitu working for Huff N. Puff defects from the army, choosing to help Mario instead.
The Koopa Corps also hosts the 64th Trivia Quiz-Off in Peach’s Castle, an event presented by Mr. Hammer.
====Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door====
In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and its remake, Bowser's Minions are known as the Koopa Clan<ref name="TTYD Koopa Clan">{{cite|quote=Mewh heh heh heh heh! They follow Bowser in his search of Princess Peach and the Crystal Stars in Rogueport and the areas surrounding it. The Koopa Clan first appears after Bowser summons them to confront the X-Nauts led by Lord Crump in Twilight Town. From this point onwards, the enemies such as Koopatrols and Hammer Bros. can be found in Rogueport Underground. Once again, the Koopa Clan is represented by Koopatrols, Hammer Bros., and blue Magikoopas.
====Super Paper Mario====
Bowser's minions reapper in Super Paper Mario, where they're first seen preparing to invade Peach's Castle, unaware that she had already been abducted. They are then captured by Count Bleck and taken to his castle, where they attend a sham wedding between Bowser and Princess Peach witnessing the creation of the Chaos Heart. Afterwards, Count Bleck's assistant Nastasia brainwashes most of the minions, who then act as enemies for the entire game. Certain members also help Luigi and Peach escape from Castle Bleck and some continue to serve Bowser in the Bitlands, holding down an old fort.
====Paper Mario: Sticker Star====
In Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Bowser's Minions appear to crash the Sticker Fest, spectating as Bowser steals the Sticker Comet and subsequently splits it up into the Comet Pieces and Royal Stickers, several of which fell in their hands. They are present throughout the game following his orders, attempting to hinder Mario's progress.
In | ====Paper Mario: Color Splash====
In Paper Mario: Color Splash, Bowser's Minions once again follow Bowser's orders as he invades Prism Island. During the game, they follow Bowser despite him being under the black paint's control, attempting to collect paint from Prism Island while guarding the Paint Stars.
| |||
====Paper Mario: The Origami King====
Bowser's Minions return in Paper Mario: The Origami King, where most of them are folded by King Olly into Folded Soldiers, serving him. The remainder of the troops that managed to escape in Bowser's Castle are found working at Shangri-Spa, after Kamek accidentally crashed the castle into the facilities. After Mario rescues Bowser, the troops assist them in reaching Peach's Castle in order to defeat King Olly and rescue Princess Peach.
Cafés ran by Bowser's Minions can occasionally be found throughout the game, and they serve as a secret hang out spots for Minions to relax.

On their way there, they are shot down by Cackletta and Fawful, and the troops are scattered throughout the kingdom. After Cackletta possesses Bowser's body, she takes control of his castle and the Bowser Baddies, planning to destroy the Beanbean Kingdom. She is stopped by Mario, Luigi and Prince Peasley, who blow up the castle.
In Minion Quest: The Search for Bowser, they are now referred to as Bowser's Minions in the English localization, despite the name "Bowser Baddies" remaining in the main game. During this story mode, Captain Goomba, alongside other captains Captain Koopa Troopa, Captain Boo and Captain Shy Guy, set out to reunite and recruit all troop that were brainwashed by Fawful, and eventually rescue Bowser.
====Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time====
In Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Bowser's Minions appear again in the past, under the command of Baby Bowser. They first appear flying the Koopa Cruiser after evacuating Baby Peach, Baby Mario, Baby Luigi and Toadsworth the Younger from Peach's Castle after the Shroob invasion begins. After briefly stopping to pick up the adult Mario and Luigi in Hollijolli Village, they are shot down by a Shroob saucer and crash-land at Bowser's Castle.
====Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story / Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey====
In Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and its remake, Bowser's Minions are taken over by Fawful and are brainwashed into being loyal to him. While Bowser is travelling through Dimble Wood, the Minions, under the command of Midbus, pilot Bowser's Castle, crushing him and afterwards battling his giant form. After Bowser's Castle is turned into the Fawful Theater, they can be seen spectating the show. Three notable minions, known as Private Goomp, Corporal Paraplonk and Sergeant Guy first appear in this game, assisting Bowser before betraying him and joining Fawful's side.
The Minions are shown to be split into different divisions, such as the Goomba squadron, the Shy Guy corps, the Koopa unit, the Bob-omb squad, and the Magikoopa corps, similarly to their appearance in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. As Bowser rescues his soldiers, he is able to use them as Brawl Attacks. After Fawful is defeated, the Minions are freed, and assist in fixing Bowser's Castle, once again reminiscent of Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars.
Bowser's Minions are also featured in the remake's side mode Bowser Jr.'s Journey. In it, Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings set out on a journey to find a cure to the Blorbs-afflicted minions in Bowser's Castle. While Bowser, Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings are away from the castle, Fawful hires the Best Fitness Friends to take over and hypnotize the remaining minions. The story then follows Bowser Jr. as he rescues and recruits the members of his army, and ultimately defeats the Best Fitness Friends and takes back their castle.
In [[Mario & Luigi: | ====Mario & Luigi: Dream Team====
In Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Bowser's Minions invite themselves to Pi'illo Island, escorting Bowser there after he hears about it. When Bowser joins forces with Antasma, his Minions assist them in taking over the island, capturing Princess Peach and finding the Dream Stone. Private Goomp, Corporal Paraplonk and Sergeant Guy return in this game, now promoted to Bowser's “personal guard” and known as the Elite Trio. Alongside Kamek, they act as Bowser's top henchmen.
In [[Mario & Luigi: | ====Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam====
In Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam, Bowser's Minions encounter their paper counterparts after they are released from the mysterious book and join forces with them to take over the Mushroom Kingdom when Bowser unites with Paper Bowser. Throughout the game, many of Bowser's Minions attempt to defeat and capture Mario, Luigi and Paper Mario while some guard the kidnapped Princess Peach and Paper Peach after they are captured by the Bowsers. At the top of Mount Brrr, Bowser's Minions operate a base manned by King Bob-omb that launches cardboard terrain and Paper minions around the Mushroom Kingdom, as well as a small fortification called Bowser's Villa, where the princesses were briefly held. Additionally, the Minions control a dungeon underneath Twinsy Tropics, where captured Toads are forced to mine Fire Ore for Neo Bowser Castle.
While the Lakitus that run the Lakitu Info Centers through out the kingdom act helpful towards Mario's party, they secretly leak information about them to Bowser. The Lakitus consider him a VIPs, and even have a special shortcut leading directly to his Villa in Mount Brrr.<ref>{{cite|quote=The Lakitus look like they’re helping Mario’s party, but they are actually only doing their jobs. In Mario & Luigi: Brothership, Bowser and his minions are transported to Concordia. They are first fought on either Skorcheen Island or Slippenglide Island. They occupy Offandon Island where they turn the locals against Mario and Luigi, and hold Bowser's Castle on Wayaway Island. Several of Bowser's Minions are captured by Zokket's army and infused with Glohm, and all minions are infected when Reclusa spreads Glohm all throughout the world. Defeating 300 of Bowser's Minions fulfills the Minion Buster challenge. In Reclusa's Mushroom Kingdom illusion, Bowser's Minions endlessly party alongside the Toads claiming to have made peace with them.

===Mario Super Sluggers===
In Mario Super Sluggers, Bowser’s Minions invade the Baseball Kingdom, lead by Bowser Jr. They cause chaos in each stadium, doing things such as locking Green Paratroopa in his lighthouse or attacking Red Toad to try and capture Princess Daisy. Many battle missions are completed against them throughout Challenge Mode. The minions who are directly fought also make up the members of the Bowser Monsters team, alongside Bowser and Bowser Jr., and are fought at both Bowser Jr. Playroom and Bowsers Castle. While Boo and Red Shy Guy are depicted as minions in cutscenes, in gameplay they are respectively on the Wario Muscles and Yoshi Eggs teams.

===Mario Tennis Aces===
In Mario Tennis Aces, Bowser’s Minions can be found operating on the seas surrounding the Kingdom of Bask, with Koopa Troopa brothers ferrying Mario and Toad between locations on Airships. Bowser has instructed his minions, including Kamek, to locate the Power Stones, with his minions guarding the final Power Stone at his castle on Inferno Island. This leads to several confrontations with Mario, who is also searching for the Power Stones. The Koopalings' Airships from New Super Mario Bros. U can also be seen flying in the background of the Savage Sea court, while several minions are spectators to the Tennis matches throughout the game.
===Dr. Mario World=== | |||
In Dr. Mario World, many of Bowser's minions, alongside Toads, are sent into a panic and fall ill due to the virus invasion. This prompts Bowser to work alongside Peach, Mario and many other characters to hunt down all the viruses. During the game's Clinic Events, sick Minions such as two Goombas, a Spike, a Koopa Troopa, two Piranha Plants, a Paragoombas, a Koopa Paratroopa, a Shy Guy and two Bloopers can be cured.
Alongside Dr. Bowser and Dr. Bowser Jr., the Koopalings, Kamek, a Lakitu, a Goomba Tower, a Koopa Troopa, a Blooper, a Boo, King Boo, a Piranha Plant and Petey Piranha appear as Doctors. Additionally, many other Minions appear as Assistants.

In Mario Golf: Super Rush, Bowser's Minions are overpowered and frozen by the Snow King's minions on Mount Snow after Bowser falls asleep. After the player's Mii character uses the Power of Flame to light the brazier in the town center, the minions thaw out and give the player access to the town’s facilities. It is stated that the Bowser Highlands course was built at Bowser’s vacation home by the minions, following Bowser’s orders, and filled with traps for a showdown with Mario. ===Recurring bosses===
Since Super Mario Bros. 3, various bosses have been associated with Bowser's army, often fought at the end of levels, or as area bosses in series such as the Paper Mario series or the Mario & Luigi series. The most common of those are Boom Booms. Other bosses are depicted as rulers of a certain group of enemies, while still working as Bowser's Minions. These include, for example, Petey Piranha and Piranha Plants, King Boo and Boos, and King Bob-omb and Bob-ombs.
Other characters shown to be in charge of groups of minions include Wizakoopa, Jagger and Goomhilde in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (and its remake), Kammy Koopa in Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (and its remake), Army Hammer Bro in Super Princess Peach and the Koopa General in [[The Super Mario Bros. ====Enhanced minion bosses====
Occasionally, some minions have appeared as bosses, generally after being enhanced by Kamek's magic (such as in the Yoshi's Island series) or other means. These minions can sometimes look visually distinct from other minions, although often they are simply enlarged versions of them.

==Weaponry and vehicles==
In addition to Bob-ombs, Bullet Bills and other weaponry-inspired minions, Bowser's Minions utilize a wide number of other types of weaponry and vehicles. Their most common type of vehicle is the airship, a staple level type seen in most of their appearances. These airships, alongside castles, fortresses and towers often feature a variety of traps and weapons, such as Bill Blasters, Fire Bars and Spinners.

==Bases and territories==
The main base of operations for Bowser's Minions is Bowser's Castle, with them also appearing in other territories ruled by Bowser or invaded by them. When invading territories, they are known to occupy fortifications such as Fortresses, Towers and Castles, with at least the smaller Fortresses found at the end of levels being built by them.<ref>{{cite|quote=A replica of the fortresses that Bowser builds. - —Bowser, Super Mario RPG (Nintendo Switch)
Bowser's Minions, also known as the Koopa Troop,[1][2][3] Team Bowser,[4] and originally as the Turtle Empire,[5] is the primary antagonistic force of the Super Mario franchise.
History[edit]
It has been requested that this article be rewritten and expanded to include more information. Reason: Add remaining games, such as the Yoshi series, Mario & Sonic series and Mario + Rabbids series
Super Mario series[edit]
DIC cartoons[edit]
The Super Mario Bros. Super Show![edit]
In The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!, the enemies under the command of King Koopa are often referred to as the Koopa Pack, although it seems to be used interchangeably between generic minions of King Koopa and a core group consisting of King Koopa, Mouser, Tryclyde, and a single Koopa Troopa. On one occasion, they also went by Koopa Troopers and Team Koopa. In the show, all of the members (except for King Koopa) are somewhat unintelligent. In "Raiders of the Lost Mushroom," Mouser, Tryclyde, and Koopa Troopa said that stealing is wrong, which made King Koopa (or Kolonel von Koop as he was called) angrily hit them with a whip and say that bad guys are supposed to steal. Occasionally, Clawgrip and Fryguy also join the ensemble.
The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3[edit]
In The Adventures of Super Mario Bros. 3, Bowser's Minions appear as recurring characters, the most frequent being the Sledge Bros, Boomerang Bros, and Paragoombas.
Yoshi franchise[edit]
It has been requested that this section be rewritten.
Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars / Super Mario RPG[edit]
During Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars and its remake, Bowser's Minions are taken over by the Smithy Gang when they invade Bowser's Keep via Exor. Over the course of the game, Bowser slowly loses the remainder of his Minions, with the Terrapin leader Jagger and Goomba leader Goomhilde defecting, while Magikoopa leader Wizakoopa is brainwashed by the Smithy Gang to defend Bowser's Castle.
By the time Bowser is met at Booster Tower, there are no more remaining Minions by his side. He is then forced to become allies with Mario, Mallow, and Geno in order to regain his troops, although he claims they actually joined him and are now members of his army. Bowser regains control of his troops after Smithy is defeated, and they go about repairing his castle.
Mario Party series[edit]
Koopa Kids act as Bowser's primary minions throughout the Mario Party, with many of them accompanying him in Mario Party, Mario Party, Mario Party 2, Mario Party 3, Mario Party 4, Mario Party 5, Mario Party 6, Mario Party Advance, and Mario Party 7, though several other minions appear in various games in the series.
Mario Party[edit]
In Mario Party, one of Bowser's Goomba minions appears on Peach's Birthday Cake and sells "Strawbery Seed decorations" for 30 coins, which grow Piranha Plants. The Goomba also hosts the Flower Lottery, congratulating players and forcing them to see Bowser and purchase the Bowser Cake if they "win". On Eternal Star, seven Koopa Kids guard the Stars for Bowser, challenging the players for them.
Mario Party 2[edit]
In Mario Party 2, a Koopa Kid appears where the Star Space was on boards and takes 5 coins from the player when they pass. Later on, several Koopa Kids kidnap Toad following Bowser's orders and appear as hosts, bankers and shopkeepers in Bowser Land. A few of Bowser's Minions can be seen in Bowser Land, with several also being depicted as floats in the Bowser Parade.
Mario Party DS[edit]
In Mario Party DS, Bowser's Minions appear as bosses, attempting to prevent Mario and friends from reaching Bowser's Castle and returning to their original size.
Mario Party 9[edit]
In Mario Party 9, playable characters Shy Guy and Magikoopa act as Bowser's Minions in the game's Solo Mode, stealing back the Mini Stars from the heroes for Bowser if either of them wins in a board. Bowser also sends his minions to each location throughout story mode to deal with the heroes and guard the Mini Stars. Bob-omb Factory is also stated to be a base of Bowser's Minions where things such as Bob-ombs are produced.
Mario Party: Island Tour[edit]
In Mario Party: Island Tour, several of Bowser's Minions, also referred to here as Bowser's underlings, appear as guards in Bowser's Tower after its creation near the Party Islands. Bowser also creates bubble clones of the playable characters to challenge the player using his bubble machine at the top of the tower.
Mario Party 10[edit]
In Mario Party 10, Bowser's Minions appear as bosses guarding the Fortresses and Castles on each board. Minions such as Lava Bubbles and Charvaarghs appear as obstacles on Chaos Castle.
Super Mario Party[edit]
In Super Mario Party, a group of Bowser's Minions join Bowser in competing alongside Mario and friends for the title of Super Star, while Kamek also serves as a judge alongside Toad and Toadette.
Mario Party Superstars[edit]
In Mario Party Superstars, the Goomba minion from Peach's Birthday Cake returns, once again hosting the Flower Lottery. If the player wins the Flower Lottery, the Goomba asks them to give Bowser his best.
Super Mario Party: Jamboree[edit]
In Super Mario Party Jamboree, Bowser's Minions, led by Kamek, aid in setting up and running the party's boards. Several shops and other services are also ran by Bowser's Minions, such as Koopa Troopas and Boos. Bowser's Minions can also be seen operating in King Bowser's Keep.
Paper Mario series[edit]
Paper Mario[edit]
In Paper Mario, Bowser’s army is known as the Koopa Corps[6].
Hammer.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door[edit]
In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and its remake, Bowser's Minions are known as the Koopa Clan[7], a name also used to refer to Koopas as a whole, in both these games and others.
Super Paper Mario[edit]
Paper Mario: Sticker Star[edit]
In Paper Mario: Sticker Star, Bowser's Minions appear to crash the Sticker Fest, spectating as Bowser steals the Sticker Comet and subsequently splits it up into the Comet Pieces and Royal Stickers, several of which fell in their hands. They are present throughout the game following his orders, attempting to hinder Mario's progress.
Paper Mario: Color Splash[edit]
In Paper Mario: Color Splash, Bowser's Minions once again follow Bowser's orders as he invades Prism Island. During the game, they follow Bowser despite him being under the black paint's control, attempting to collect paint from Prism Island while guarding the Paint Stars.
Paper Mario: The Origami King[edit]
Mario & Luigi series[edit]
Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga / Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions[edit]
In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and its remake, Bowser's Minions are known as the Bowser Baddies[8]. They travel alongside Bowser in the Koopa Cruiser to the Beanbean Kingdom in order to reclaim Princess Peach's stolen voice.
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time[edit]
In Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Bowser's Minions appear again in the past, under the command of Baby Bowser. They first appear flying the Koopa Cruiser after evacuating Baby Peach, Baby Mario, Baby Luigi and Toadsworth the Younger from Peach's Castle after the Shroob invasion begins. After briefly stopping to pick up the adult Mario and Luigi in Hollijolli Village, they are shot down by a Shroob saucer and crash-land at Bowser's Castle.
Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story / Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey[edit]
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team[edit]
In Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Bowser's Minions invite themselves to Pi'illo Island, escorting Bowser there after he hears about it. When Bowser joins forces with Antasma, his Minions assist them in taking over the island, capturing Princess Peach and finding the Dream Stone. Private Goomp, Corporal Paraplonk and Sergeant Guy return in this game, now promoted to Bowser's “personal guard” and known as the Elite Trio. Alongside Kamek, they act as Bowser's top henchmen.
Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam[edit]
The Lakitus consider him a VIPs, and even have a special shortcut leading directly to his Villa in Mount Brrr.[9]
Mario & Luigi: Brothership[edit]
After Concordia is restored, Bowser's Minions all rush to the newly opened portal back to the Mushroom Kingdom.
Super Smash Bros. Brawl[edit]
In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Bowser's Minions form part of the Subspace Army, commanded by Bowser, Ganondorf, and Wario. Although the group is led by Master Hand, it is later revealed that he is being used by Tabuu in order to trick the three commanders into enveloping the World of Trophies into Subspace.
Mario Super Sluggers[edit]
Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition[edit]
In Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition, some members of Bowser's Minions, especially those accidentally trapped inside Baddie Blocks, fight alongside Mario and Luigi to stop Bowser from abusing the power of the Orbs.
Mario Tennis Aces[edit]
Dr. Mario World[edit]
Mario Golf: Super Rush[edit]
In Mario Golf: Super Rush, Bowser's Minions are overpowered and frozen by the Snow King's minions on Mount Snow after Bowser falls asleep. After the player's Mii character uses the Power of Flame to light the brazier in the town center, the minions thaw out and give the player access to the town’s facilities. It is stated that the Bowser Highlands course was built at Bowser’s vacation home by the minions, following Bowser’s orders, and filled with traps for a showdown with Mario. Outside of story mode, several of Bowser's Minions can be found as obstacles in Bowser Highlands.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie[edit]
- “My army! Koopas! Goombas! Whatever those things are!”
- —Bowser, The Super Mario Bros. Movie
Bowser's army plays a prominent role in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, starting with their invasion of the Snow Kingdom, and obtaining the Super Star in its castle. The army is led by the Koopa General, taking orders from Bowser, with Kamek serving as his adviser.
Structure[edit]
Leaders[edit]
Bowser's Minions, as the name suggests, are primarily led by Bowser[10] himself, including as Baby Bowser (in the Yoshi franchise) and Dry Bowser, although the latter has also appeared separately as a boss in Mario Party: Island Tour. As Bowser's heir, Bowser Jr. also commands the Minions.[11] Directly below them are the seven Koopalings and Kamek, who acts as Bowser's adviser[12] and Bowser Jr.'s caretaker.[13] Both the Koopalings and Kamek are referred to as First officers in Bowser Jr.'s Journey, commanding other troops in the game.
Baby Bowser (Yoshi franchise)
Recurring bosses[edit]
Since Super Mario Bros. 3, various bosses have been associated with Bowser's army, often fought at the end of levels, or as area bosses in series such as the Paper Mario series or the Mario & Luigi series. The most common of those are Boom Booms. Other bosses are depicted as rulers of a certain group of enemies, while still working as Bowser's Minions. These include, for example, Petey Piranha and Piranha Plants, King Boo and Boos, and King Bob-omb and Bob-ombs.
Other characters shown to be in charge of groups of minions include Wizakoopa, Jagger and Goomhilde in Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars (and its remake), Kammy Koopa in Paper Mario and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (and its remake), Army Hammer Bro in Super Princess Peach and the Koopa General in The Super Mario Bros. Movie. In Minion Quest: The Search for Bowser, the Elite Captain Quartet act as leaders of units of minions in the field.

Enhanced minion bosses[edit]
Occasionally, some minions have appeared as bosses, generally after being enhanced by Kamek's magic (such as in the Yoshi's Island series) or other means. These minions can sometimes look visually distinct from other minions, although often they are simply enlarged versions of them.

Recurring minions[edit]
The number of members in Bowser's army varies greatly between games, with many species appearing only a few times. However, there are a number of recurring minions who appear consistently throughout the franchise. These minions are often described as belonging to Bowser's army or can be found inside places directly controlled by it, such as Castles, Fortresses, Airships or similar structures.

Notable Minions[edit]
Weaponry and vehicles[edit]
In addition to Bob-ombs, Bullet Bills and other weaponry-inspired minions, Bowser's Minions utilize a wide number of other types of weaponry and vehicles. Their most common type of vehicle is the airship, a staple level type seen in most of their appearances. These airships, alongside castles, fortresses and towers often feature a variety of traps and weapons, such as Bill Blasters, Fire Bars and Spinners.
Weapons and Traps[edit]
Cannons and Cannonballs
Vehicles[edit]
Mechas and Robots[edit]
Bases and territories[edit]
The main base of operations for Bowser's Minions is Bowser's Castle, with them also appearing in other territories ruled by Bowser or invaded by them. When invading territories, they are known to occupy fortifications such as Fortresses, Towers and Castles, with at least the smaller Fortresses found at the end of levels being built by them.[15]
