On December 18, 2013, Nintendo announced free DLC exclusively for the Wii U version of the game, featuring a new level Yoshi's Island Zone.
The player controls [[Sonic]] in floating tube-shaped [[sonicretro:Zone|Zones]] in the [[sonicretro:Lost Hex|Lost Hex]] similar to the planets in ''[[Super Mario Galaxy]]''. Sonic Lost World is an action-adventure platform game in the Sonic the Hedgehog series developed by Sonic Team and Dimps for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. The game was published by Sega and Nintendo on October 18, 2013.

Gameplay[edit]

The player controls Sonic in floating tube-shaped Zones in the Lost Hex similar to the planets in Super Mario Galaxy. Unlike previous three-dimensional games in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, Sonic Lost World features controls and levels that favor movement rather than speed. Sonic can perform a variety of moves such as the Spin Dash and the Homing Attack as well as new Parkour moves like the Wall Climb and the Wall Run. Wisps can also be found in levels, which allow Sonic to use special power-ups.
