The Curious Factory is the first level of the Ruby Passage in Wario Land 4. It is a labyrinth of a factory with robot-like enemies and many pistons and Decompressors, which turn Wario into Flat Wario and back to normal, respectively. Much of the flooring and platforms in the level are made up of conveyor belts. The enemy Togerobo is exclusive to this level. This level also features the first appearance of Kaentsubo, which can transform Wario into Flaming Wario, allowing him to break Bonfire Blocks. Hitting the switch will open up the underground area of the level. This level's CD is called Driftwood & the Island Dog and once collected, it can be played in the Sound Room. The level's background music can be found in the WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$! microgame Paper Plane without the machinery sounds.
The time given to escape the level after hitting the switch varies between game modes, including 3:30 in Normal mode, 2:50 in Hard, and 2:30 in S-Hard.
