The title of this article is official, but it comes from a Japanese source.
If an acceptable English name is found, then the article should be moved to the new title.

A Hot Dot is a collectible in Famicom Grand Prix II: 3D Hot Rally. It is represented by an exclamation mark with an H on it. Hot Dots can help fill up a vehicle's "Hot" indicator on the bottom of the screen that is represented by eight exclamation marks. If the player fills up all eight of the exclamation marks, their vehicle unlocks a fifth additional gear that helps accelerate to a top speed of 300 km/h without slipping off the road for 15 seconds. The speed can prove challenging as bumps in the road can send the vehicle flying high, making it difficult to control the player's landing.

Hot Dots appear in groups of five at predetermined locations along the course. They can appear straight down the center of the road; begin from the left, slowly transitioning to the right; or begin in the center, transition right, disappear, and then finish on the left.
