The Star Hana is a rare flower with a Super Star replacing the petals. It is the MacGuffin Mario and Yoshi are after in the last chapter of Super Mario-kun volume 7.
After discovering that the Mura Mura citizens are affected by the influenza tontonbū-gata and are turning into pigs, Mario learns from the village chief that only the Star Hana can cure them back to normal. Mario and Yoshi head off to search for the flower and find it on the head of Super Dossun, which they defeat, claiming the flower and curing the Yoshis and Luigi from the pig flu.
