During their climb up Mount Pajamaja to track down [[Bowser]] and [[Antasma]], [[Mario]] and [[Luigi]] come across an incredibly durable gate called the Mighty Gate, which [[Lil' Massif]] and [[Big Massif]] admit they're unable to destroy. As such, Mario and Luigi explore more accessible areas of the mountain, eventually stumbling across a Mega Pi'illo trapped in a [[Nightmare Chunk]]. Subsequently, [[Prince Dreambert]] notices another Mega Pi'illo that is also a victim of a Nightmare Chunk in the nearby vicinity. Due to this, Dreambert suggests Mario and Luigi free both Mega Pi'illos; they may be able to deal with the Mighty Gate. The first Mega Pi'illo rescued turns out to be Phil, who admits he cannot deal with the Mighty Gate alone and requires another Mega Pi'illo's assistance. Upon his relative Mega Pi'illo Lowe's rescue, they sing a brief song together and destroy the Mighty Gate with brute force. This leaves the Massif Bros. in awe, promptly causing them to refer to both Phil and Lowe as muscle lords, a title which they both deny ownership of. Afterwards, Phil returns to his place of rescue for the remainder of the adventure.

A Mega Pi'illo is a large, yellow species of Pi'illo found on Mount Pajamaja in Mario & Luigi: Dream Team. Four of them are encountered in the game, named Mega Phil, Mega Lowe, Mega Cush, and Mega Shawn. Phil and Lowe's names are derived from "pillow," while Cush and Shawn's names are derived from "cushion."

History[edit]

“CUSH SAYS CUSH, SHAWN SAYS SHAWN, THEN SAY CUSH AND SHAWN!”
Cush and Shawn, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team

During their climb up Mount Pajamaja to track down Bowser and Antasma, Mario and Luigi come across an incredibly durable gate called the Mighty Gate, which Lil' Massif and Big Massif admit they are unable to destroy. As such, Mario and Luigi explore more accessible areas of the mountain, eventually stumbling across a Mega Pi'illo trapped in a Nightmare Chunk. Subsequently, Prince Dreambert notices another Mega Pi'illo that is also a victim of a Nightmare Chunk in the nearby vicinity.

Later, while scaling the mountain, they encounter another barrier that requires the help of Mega Pi'illos to break. After rescuing Cush and his relative Shawn from their Nightmare Chunks, they sing a song and destroy the barrier with their sheer strength. Mario and co. move on towards the summit, thanking Cush and Shawn for helping them.
