Forest Ruins is the fourth level of Lost Island in DK: Jungle Climber.
Layout[edit]
The level begins with an upwards series of Peg Boards moving upwards amidst a few Flitters. Though the entrance to the second section is initially blocked off by a stone door, Donkey Kong can climb even further up to pull a Switch Peg and thus open the door. Additionally, going past the Switch Peg leads to an area with several gems and the letter K, while the Flitter left of the Switch Peg flies near the level's Bonus Barrel.
The second section starts with a narrow hall, which leads to two Peg Board chasms with Kritters climbing them. The left chasm contains a DK Barrel, while the right one leads to a box with a few gems inside.
At the beginning of the third section, Cranky Kong will brief the player on how Diddy Kong will move around should be become separated from Donkey Kong via Diddy Attack. This mechanic is demonstrated in this section by allowing Diddy to access an area above with several bananas and the letter O. After pulling another Switch Peg, Donkey Kong will pass below another high-up area containing the DK Coin suspended above, along with yet another Switch Peg opening the door leading to the next section.
The fourth section starts with a Kritter moving back and forth, with a few upwards Peg Boards and a Hammer that can be used to smash through groups of boxes and stone blocks.
The fifth section is an expansive area with a few Flipflaps. Donkey Kong must use a nearby peg boulder to reach some additional Peg Boards and Wings and thus pull a Switch Peg at the top left of the section to reveal an entrance at the top right which must then be entered.
In the sixth section, Donkey Kong must simply ride two peg boulders down to an entrance near the bottom right.
The seventh and final section begins with an upwards climb that starts with unstable Peg Boards, followed by some horizontally moving Peg Boards. More unstable Peg Boards follow along with several Flipflaps, which in turn leads to the level's exit.
