Big Spiny Blitz (or World 3-1) is the first level of World 3 and the ninth level overall in Super Mario Run.
Layouts[edit]
Pink Coins[edit]
The level begins with a single Big Spiny. The player will then fall onto an ! Switch to turn outlined blocks solid and vice versa. After hitting another ! Switch, the player will encounter a Lakitu with the first Pink Coin. After crossing some block towers and hitting another ! Switch, the player must simply jump and grab the Pink Coin from the Lakitu. After crossing a Brick Block structure containing a Big Spiny, the second Pink Coin is reached. The player must simply jump onto the elevated line-control platform and jump again to grab it. After crossing a Piranha Plant, the player must jump on a series of cloud platforms to obtain the third Pink Coin. After crossing a Koopa Paratroopa and climbing down, the player must touch a Red Ring and follow the trail of Red Coins to obtain a Super Star, necessary for collecting the fourth Pink Coin. The player must then take the lower route and cross two pairs of red warp pipes to the fifth and final Pink Coin. After crossing more Big Spinies, the player must hit an ! Switch, then jump up and hit a P Switch and follow the Blue Coins to an elevated warp pipe to reach the Goal Pole.
Purple Coins[edit]
The level begins with an ! Switch, then a path of solid blocks. After hitting another ! Switch, the player will encounter a Lakitu with the first Purple Coin, in which they must simply jump high enough to grab it from the Lakitu. After crossing a series of Big Spinies and line controlled platforms, the player will encounter three line-controlled platforms, with the nearby ? Block containing the second Purple Coin. Just before crossing a Piranha Plant, the player must utilize a Pause Block to wall jump onto a cloud platform, then follow a series of cloud platforms to obtain the third Purple Coin. After dropping down, the player must touch a Red Ring and follow the trail of Red Coins to obtain a Super Star, necessary for collecting the fourth Purple Coin. The player must then take the lower route and cross two pairs of red warp pipes to the Brick Block containing the fifth and final Purple Coin. After crossing more Big Spinies, the player must hit an ! Switch, then jump up and hit a P Switch and follow the Blue Coins to an elevated warp pipe to reach the Goal Pole.
Black Coins[edit]
The level begins with a single Big Spiny, followed by a platform, After hitting an ! Switch, the player will encounter a Lakitu with the first Black Coin, in which they must simply jump high enough to grab it from the Lakitu. After a line-controlled platform and another Big Spiny, the second Black Coin can be found in a ? Block just before the second line-controlled platform. Just before crossing a Piranha Plant, the player must utilize a Pause Block to wall jump onto a cloud platform, then follow a series of cloud platforms to reach the ? Block containing the third Black Coin. After dropping down, the player must touch a Red Ring and follow the trail of Red Coins to obtain a Super Star, then use some Long Jump Blocks to collect the fourth Black Coin. The player must then take the upper route and cross two structures of solid blocks containing Big Spinies to the third structure, which contains the fifth and final Black Coin. After crossing more Big Spinies, the player must hit an ! Switch, then jump up and hit a P Switch and follow the Blue Coins to an elevated warp pipe to reach the Goal Pole.
