Booster Barrel Skyway is the first level of K. Kruizer III in DK: King of Swing. It must be completed to unlock the following level, K. Kruizer III Artillery. Booster Barrel Skyway heavily involves the use of Booster Barrels, which Donkey Kong must use to travel up to the K. Kruizer III airship itself. Meanwhile, there are Zingers, Mini-Neckys, and spikes to avoid along the way. Some extra Booster Barrels appear around the level in case the previous Booster Barrel breaks. Booster Barrel Skyway is one of the shortest levels, having only one section.
Layout[edit]
The level begins on flat, snowy land. A Booster Barrel hangs above the ground that can fly the Kong upwards through a long banana trail. As it passes an extra Booster Barrel, the banana trail breaks into two pathways, creating a circle that moves around a Zinger. The trail continues past a floating spike and a second extra Booster Barrel. More Zingers are above, one of which that can be defeated for a Crystal Coconut, along with some stationary spikes. The banana trail breaks into two pathways again after the third extra Booster Barrel, creating a circle shape that surrounds a moving Mini-Necky. Another Mini-Necky is circled by more bananas just after another extra Booster Barrel. Floating spikes are also around this area. After the fifth extra Booster Barrel, the Kong flies into an area without many bananas. Floating spikes and Mini-Neckys fill this part of the level, along with the bronze medal. Eventually, the hero should reach a platform at the top of the area with an exit sign. If the Kong lands on this platform, they complete the level.
Key items[edit]
- Crystal Coconut: Revealed by defeating the second Zinger.
- Bronze medal: On the right side among Mini-Neckys and spike balls in a later part of the level.
