Is this necessary?[edit]
Is this template necessary? Other templates that are considered "Notice templates" are usually placed to bring attention to problems such as maintenance issues, as said here. However, this one is only used to let readers know that if these glitches happened to them, it could permanently affect their game's save files, while I think it would be better to just add a line that says "This glitch can corrupt save files." into the paragraph about the glitch. The template is used on only a few pages (one third of them being talk pages), and this one, the two here and some of the ones here describe the problems the glitch can cause to the game, in addition to using this template, which makes the template feel unnecessary if it already describes what can happen. --TheFlameChomp (talk) 16:15, 5 May 2017 (EDT)
- I think it is necessary. Save data corruption could be serious for the average player looking to experiment with glitches. I think it is important to draw attention to it as much as possible. --Super Mario Fan 67 (T•C•S) 17:13, 5 May 2017 (EDT)
- I'm going to agree with Supermariofan here, these are people's consoles we're talking about. A small throwaway sentence that can be easily overlooked at the top of the relevant section is not enough. Yoshi876 (talk)
