They are only found in Barbos's Barrier, and they are shot by [[Barbos]]. The Missile Shells have a purple cone-shaped shell covering their tentacle-based bodies, and display two beady eyes. When they are shot by Barbos, they start to chase the player. [[Enguarde the Swordfish]] must lure them at the [[Lurchin]]s that protect Barbos; once the Lurchins are gone, Enguarde can prick the boss.

| Missile Shells appear again in the [[Game Boy Advance]] [[remake]] of ''Donkey Kong Country 3'', and they act just exactly like in the previous version. Here, they can be smashed only if they crush into a Lurchin, as they can swim through the area's walls.
