Although they might be mouse enemies, Rappies are actually bigger than mice and thus they resemble rats. The origin of the name "Rappy" may be interpreted in two ways: it is either derived from the fact that the word "rat" sounds closely to "rap", or inspired from a character pertaining to the TV show ''[[wikipedia:Tom & Jerry Kids|Tom & Jerry Kids]]'', called Rap Rat - a gangster rat who constantly sings in a rap cadence. Likewise, the name could be inspired from ''Rap Rat'', a board game developed by [[wikipedia:Atmosfear (series)#Nightmare|A Couple 'A Cowboys]] which involves an odd and rankling antropomorphic rodent bursting out of a cheese hole and explaining the instructions useful for the game.
