Layout[edit]
Mario begins the level near two Stone Spikes on platforms, with a ? Block containing a power-up in between them. A Koopa Paratroopa flying over a pit is next to the second Stone Spike. Mario then encounters cliffs that he must climb on and avoid two nearby Stone Spikes and two Koopa Paratroopas. A Koopa Troopa walking on ? Blocks and bricks is found, along with a Bill Blaster Turret firing Bullet Bills. Lifts are found moving upwards from a pit are found, followed by a Bill Blaster Turret and more lifts that move downwards into a pit. A Koopa Troopa and a Stone Spike are then encountered. Mario must then climb across more cliffs while avoiding Koopa Paratroopas and Stone Spikes. The midway point is then found, followed by lifts and Bill Blaster Turrets. A Red Ring is then found, along with more cliffs. Mario must then avoid Bullet Bills fired from Bill Blaster Turrets, along with four Stone Spikes above a rocky wall. A Roulette Block can also be found. Mario then arrives at the pole.
Above the midway point, there is a Warp Pipe that leads the player to an area with a P Switch. Hitting it causes rows of Blue Coins to appear, which can be collected by throwing Ice Blocks found in the area.
