| Shulk (シュルク Shuruku) is the main protagonist of Xenoblade Chronicles. He will appear in the upcoming game Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U. He was officially confirmed on August 29, 2014 along with the New Nintendo 3DS during a Nintendo 3DS Direct. Shulk wields the Monado, an ancient sword that gives him various special abilities.

| == Moves ==
| |
| Shulk uses his sword for a variety of attacks. Based on the Japanese hydeograms, his sword does different types of attacks. So far, his attacks seem to be entirely sword-based. He can further expand his attack arsenal by activating the Monado. The Monado gives Shulk the ability to see the future, which gives him a counter move, similar to the Fire Emblem characters. For his Final Smash, he summons his partners Dunban and Riki for a Chain Attack.

| ==Trivia==
| |
| *Months before Shulk's official reveal, his English voice actor, Adam Howden, stated on Twitter that he was doing voiceover work for a game, but couldn't reveal what it was at the time.
| |
| *This is the only character in Super Smash Bros. from a series that debuted after the release of its predecessor (in this case, Super Smash Bros. Brawl).
