Slime Drop Drama is the fourth level of World 3 found in Yoshi's New Island. As the name suggests, Slime Drops appear in large quantities in the level. This level's playable Yoshi is the Yellow Yoshi, and debuts Spray Fish, archerfish-like enemies that spray out water to Yellow Yoshi to impede its progress through a level. The level also introduces Paddle Platforms, wheel-like platforms that can take Yellow Yoshi across the level by stepping on platforms.

“EEEEEEEK! That tears it! Time to end your journey with my handy balloon bombs!”
Kamek, Yoshi's New Island

Yellow Yoshi starts the level in an area with an Egg Block and Spray Fish and Snifits, along with a five-segmented yellow Paddle Platform that it has to ride on to reach the next area. On the top near the end of the Paddle Platform is a Winged Cloud that contains a key, used to open up a locked door nearby. This locked door takes Yellow Yoshi into a room containing a Paddle Platform with four segments where Yellow Yoshi needs to use it to cross spikes and the level's only Shy Guy. Collecting the Smiley Flower in this room causes coins to spawn, pointing to a hidden Winged Cloud that gives stars when hit. To the right of the locked door is a ledge containing a hidden Winged Cloud that gives Yellow Yoshi a 1-UP upon activation. Shortly after the exit of the locked room Item Balloons carrying a crate, which contains stars when ground pounded.

An Arrow Sign points to the next area where the Checkpoint Ring awaits, followed by the appearance of the level's Slime Drops and Paddle Platforms containing three segments. Past a blockaded door is a brown cracked Rock Block that lets down a Spring Ball, propelling Yellow Yoshi to a door. The room the door leads into is in a subarea with a Metal Guy, allowing Yellow Yoshi to create a Metal Eggdozers to enable underwater access. Underwater contains the level's third Smiley Flower and a second Metal Eggdozer lying on top of a breakable platform. Two Spring Balls lead Yellow Yoshi up, where there are eggs waiting before the door back to the main room. Yellow Yoshi needs to then toss eggs at floating Winged Clouds to spawn platforms over water and spikes, with the last one leading Yellow Yoshi upward. Eventually, an upwards-moving Paddle Platform takes Yellow Yoshi to the boss door where Kamek awaits. As Yellow Yoshi is fighting Kamek, there are floating Item Balloons each carrying a bomb as well as Sanbo Flowers spawning Pokeys on either side. To beat Kamek, Yellow Yoshi has to throw an egg on a balloon so that the missile lands on Kamek. After Kamek is hit three times, the player gains access to the next level.
