The player starts off and go across a bridge. There, they meet up with 4 Koopa Paratroopas, and find 3 ? Blocks, 2 containing coins, and the middle one containing a power-up. Then, the player finds a couple of Brick Blocks, the middle one containing a Star. The player can go through the Warp Pipe under the Stone Blocks, which leads them to a Bonus Room. The player encounters a couple of Piranha Plants along the way, and has to jump from pipe to pipe to cross the water. It is possible to get a 1-Up by kicking the Koopa down the narrow passageway near the start of the level and allowing its shell to run into other enemies. There is a hidden power-up near the staircase before the section of the level with many Fire Bars and Podoboos.
