Urchin Shoals, or Sparkling Waters-4, is the fourth course of Sparkling Waters in New Super Mario Bros. U. It is unlocked via completion of Haunted Shipwreck, and its own completion unlocks Dragoneel's Undersea Grotto. It is the location of the third Nabbit chase.
Layout[edit]
Like Waterspout Beach and Above the Cheep Cheep Seas, this level contains many Water Geysers. The level begins with a Water Geyser with a Big Urchin on it. A Goomba is found, along with another Big Urchin on a Water Geyser, found under a ? Block containing a power-up. A group of five Water Geysers follows, some of which having Urchins on them. Koopa Troopas are also here. A row of Donut Blocks is found above a Big Urchin, and causing them to fall allows access to a Brick Block containing a Mini Mushroom. Next is a section of ground with a Koopa Troopa and a Goomba on it with Big Urchins below, which is followed by a Water Geyser. More Big Urchins on Water Geysers are found, followed by the Checkpoint Flag. There is a platform containing a long row of Big Urchins on Water Geysers, and it is followed by a platform with a Koopa Troopa on it and a row of Urchins on Water Geysers below. Another section of Big Urchins on Water Geysers follows. A Water Geyser that leads to a platform above is found, along with a Red Ring. More Big Urchins on Water Geysers follow, with two lifted above rows of Donut Blocks before the Goal Pole.
