They appear on top of the screen, waiting for an opportunity to drop the bomb on Bowser. If Bowser uses his vacuum ability, he can swallow the Dark Fawful Guys, meaning that Mario & Luigi must battle them. But since they are so high in the air (they are seen on the upper screen and not the touch screen), the player must rapidly press ds many times in a row. Without the Dark Fawful Guys supporting the weight of the Dark Fawful Bomb, it will land on all the enemies, creating a giant purple explosion that will deal massive damage to all the enemies. If Bowser does not suck the Dark Fawful Guys in after a few turns they will drop the Dark Fawful Bomb on him and cause massive damage.

*Dark Fawful Bombs are quite similar to Shroob-ombs from Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time, as they both are larger than normal Bob-ombs, both are purple, and both appear with enemies who carry them. As Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story is the sequel to Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, it may be possible that the Dark Fawful Bombs are based off Shroob-ombs.
*The Dark Fawful Bomb shows up as "Bowser" in the game's coding, likely because it does not normally register as an attackable target.ref needed

Dark Fawful Bombs[1] are enemies that appear in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and the remake, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey. They are huge, purple Bob-ombs with a lit fuse and black stars on their bodies, including a large one with red eyes imprinted on their face; this makes them somewhat resemble the Dark Star. They are always accompanied by two Fly Guy-like Dark Fawful Guys that carry them, similar to Shroob-ombs and their Support Shroobs from Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. Similar large green Bob-ombs with Fawful-like glasses appear during the battle against the Tower of Yikk, used by Crawfuls. Dark Fawful Bombs rarely appear in Peach's Castle after its takeover, only showing up in battles where at least one Naplock or Dark Trashure was present at the beginning; they will also appear alongside Dark Mechawfuls in Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey, but only if Dark Trashures are present as well.

Battle[edit]

Dark Fawful Guys appear with the Dark Fawful Bomb at the top of the upper screen, waiting for an opportunity to drop the bomb onto Bowser. Bowser must use his vacuum ability to swallow the Dark Fawful Guys, allowing Mario & Luigi to battle them; however, their height means that the player must rapidly press X Button more than usual. If Bowser does not eliminate the Dark Fawful Guys, they eventually drop the Dark Fawful Bomb on top of him and cause massive damage. Once the Dark Fawful Guys are inhaled, the Dark Fawful Bomb lands on the other enemies, creating a giant purple explosion that deals massive damage to them.
