The Brute is Wario's default signature kart in Mario Kart DS. The kart is a checker-boarded black lowrider, loosely resembling a 1950s or 1960s American two-door sedan, most closely resembling a third-generation Cadillac de Ville. The Brute bears a resemblance to the Wario Car from Mario Kart: Double Dash!!, only black. Wario's artwork in the kart is the same as his Mario Kart: Double Dash!! artwork sans Waluigi. The emblem is located on the hood and back.
It is one of the fastest karts in the game, with rather average acceleration, weight, handling and drift and low items. Its acceleration is tied with the Standard RB, its weight with the Wildlife, its handling with the Light Tripper, and its drift with the Dry Bomber.
For any character to use the kart, the player must get all gold trophies in 150cc Mirror Mode. When characters get to choose from seven karts after obtaining gold trophies in every 150cc Nitro or Retro cup, Bowser and Waluigi can use it.
Five similar karts called the Yellow Taxi, Platinum Taxi, Red Taxi, Rose Taxi, and Rainbow Taxi appear in Mario Kart Tour, but they are all designed after taxis.
