It's not a glitch. You know how items disappear after a certain amount of time? That amount of time is long enough to release two pigs into the pen and get their items. I don't see it being a glitch, but it's a notable property - I think it's worth mentioning because if you've got two good pigs next to each other, such as an Ultra Shroom and Jammin' Jelly or Repel Gel, then it will help players get them both rather than having to pick one.
