| The seven Star Pieces form the [[Star Road]], where the [[Star Spirits]] live. When [[Smithy]] shatters the [[Star Road]] into seven star pieces, a star named [[Geno|♥♪!?]] comes down from the sky and posesses a doll named [[Geno]]. [[Geno]] joins [[Mario]] and [[Mallow]] at [[Forest Maze]]. [[Mario]] finds the seven Star Pieces after the end of each chapter, usually by defeating a boss, but not always (like the one at [[Star Hill]]).

| The Star Pieces are gold fragments of a Star. [[Mario]] finds these hidden in various places throughout his adventures. They can be traded for [[badges]].
