Stone is a status effect in the game Paper Mario. Mario gains this status when he only uses a Stone Cap. The animation for the Stone status depicts Mario crouched and constantly blocking. While in Stone form, Mario is impervious to enemy attacks. However, it also prevents him from using attacks. When Mario has the Stone status he resembles Metal Mario.
