Spike
Should this be merged with Spike? "Gabon" is Spike's Japanese name, and he's consistently kept it in most of his appearances in Japanese versions of games. --YellowYoshi398 20:41, 2 February 2007 (EST)
Seems like just the basic subspecies. No merge.
- Yoshi Master
- I agree. Don't merge it. Hisak 12:32, 2 June 2007 (EDT)
I also agree, they act, look and are named differently. They could have another name in the Japanesse version, ya'know. Gofer
Just a Character?
If I remember right, wasn't Gabon just a character in the intermission between levels? Perhaps you guys are looking at a player's guide, but I'm pretty sure that the intermission was just a reference the single character that's mentioned in the article. Basically, does anyone have any proof that this is a separate species and not just a single character? Stumpers! 13:09, 5 January 2008 (EST)
Kirby?
Gabon shares the exact same name with a Kirby enemy, although the two are drastically different: [1] Should I state that as trivia?--FREAK ~Game Freak~ OUT!
- It's coincidence. Hello, I'm Time Turner.
- Probably, I don't even remember writing this. >_>--FREAK ~Game Freak~ OUT!

Merge to Spike (enemy)
Template:SettledTPP MERGE 3-0
This enemy's name is a transliteration of the Japanese name of Spike. Additionally, the two look and act similarly. Therefore, the different name is probably a simple translation oversight.

- Twentytwofiftyseven (talk)
- KS3 (talk) Even though they look so different, they behave the same, spitting spiked balls out that can harm Mario and co.
- Turkishcoffee (talk) They act the same and almost look similar. How many other enemies have had massive face lifts between games?

Comments
Do you mean Lakilester, Spike_(enemy) Or something else? I landed at a disambiguation page. I don't think many people would support the merging of an article when it's not clear what's being merged. --Turkishcoffee 08:16, 5 April 2010 (EDT)
- I believe he's refering to the enemy. Hello, I'm Time Turner.
- Lakilester is just the first Mario-related thing I think of when I hear "spike". Looking at the enemy, I'd say we should merge them. As written the proposal wants us to merge this with a disambiguation page. Turkishcoffee (talk)
