- According to Nikkei Magazine, Nintendo would release a new Nintendo DSi in Japan by the end of 2009, having larger 4 inch screens. The information was later considered speculative.

- A new Mario game was hinted at on a twitter portal that apparently belongs to Charles Martinet, the voice actor of Mario. This information was later denied by IGN.
