Ray is a Manta Ray that appears in the game Super Mario Galaxy. He appears in the Loopdeeloop and Loopdeeswoop Galaxies. When Mario comes to retrieve Power Stars from these galaxies, he must participate in "Manta Ray Surfing", which is a game orchestrated by the local Penguins. The Manta Ray that Mario is given to surf on was named Ray, according to one of the Penguins. Thanks to Ray, Mario was able to retrieve the Stars and continue on his quest.
