A Trophy Challenge (Also called a Trophy Race) is a challenge in the game, Diddy Kong Racing and it's remake, Diddy Kong Racing DS. After beating a world in Diddy Kong Racing, the player may do the challenge. Like in the Mario Kart series, they must race in four different courses. After playing in one, the player will get a certain amount of points depending on their placing. The player with the most points wins. If the player wins, they will be awarded with a golden trophy with Wizpig on top. There are five trophy challenges in all; the fifth one is accessible once the player wins the second Wizpig race.

In Diddy Kong Racing DS, instead of winning a Wizpig trophy every time, the player will get different themed trophies depending on what world they are in.
