Focus was a command in Paper Mario that increased Mario's Star Power with a single command. It is quickly learned after defeating the Koopa Bros. and freeing Eldstar, the elderly Star Spirit. In Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door this special move was replaced by Appeal, a similar move. However, Focus always increased Mario's SP by a set amount, while the amount recovered while using Appeal varied.
