About Me
My name, if you haven't guessed, is Tim. I'm 15 and live in Australia. My other hobbies besides playing Mario games include, Dragon Ball, Pokemon, Red Dwarf and listening to the music of; The Beatles, The Who, The Rolling Stones and others.
Me & Mario
I remember going on holiday to the beach one Easter when I was 6 (April 2000 to be exact). My cousins went with me and one of them brought along her 64. She had most of Mario's games on it (Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Super Smash Bros, Mario party 1 and 2, Mario Golf alond with some other non-Mario games.). I remeber learning about Mario and all the characters in the series. I remeber SSB well as it featured Pikachu and Jigglypuff, as I liked Pokemon back then (I still do).
Later that year, my next door neighbour lent me his Super Nintendo for a couple of weeks. He had Super Mario Kart and a caveman game that escapes my memory. I remember pondering why it was so 'super' if it came before the 64, I also noticed the difference between the two Mario Kart games and how SMK seemed to be covered in lego bricks.
Come Christmas 2000 both one of my other cousins and I recieved 64s. We both got Mario Kart 64 while my cousin got Diddy Kong Racing and a second controller and I got Banjo Kazooie. Eventually I got a second controller. By Christmas 2001 I had Pokemon Stadium as well. By this point I also had a GBA with Warioland 4 and a GBC Lonney Tunes game.
By Christmas 2004 I had many more 64 and GBA games, but only a few Mario ones; Super Mario Advance and Mario Kart Super Circuit. After that, I didn't get any more Mario games for quite some time.
At the end of 2007, I got a Wii. I got Mario Party 8 for Christmas that year and Mario Kart, Super Mario Galaxy(One of the greatest games ever!) and SSBB soon followed. At the same time, I got a DS with Mario Kart, Mario and Luigi, New Super Mario Bros, Yoshi's Island and Super Princess Peach. I also bought Super Mario Sunshine and SSBM for the Wii, along with a Gamecube controller.
My Thoughts
My favourite characters are Waluigi(An oddball with a vanity problem, how can you go wrong?), Wario(A greedy fat man is a sure fire hit in my books.), Lanky Kong(An underdeveloped anthropomorphic orangutan, pure genius!) and Koopas.
My favourite console is the Wii. I like the motion sensor technology in some places, like in SMG and Wii Music, but don't care for full-on motion-control games like Wii Sports. Hence, Mario Party 8 is one of my favourites as it features standard Mario Party games and ones with minimal motion-control.
My second favourite console is the DS, it has great games and you can also play GBA games on it. Like the Wii, I enjoy games with little or no touch-screen controls.
I like the 64 but feel that it's dated in 21st Century life. The games are ok, but the graphics are somewhat lackluster these days. The controls are clunk too (Not that Super Mario 64 DS fixed that though, it's a horrid game.).
On the Wiki, my main contributions are in polls and featured images, although I sometimes fix up articles if I feel like it.
I joined at 5:40pm (my time) on September 27 2008 (That's September 27 2010 17:40:00 until my 2nd aniversary)

Baby Waluigi, found this on BJAODN and now I'm so tempted to nominate this for Featured Image!

Wario and Waluigi, two of the best

I saw this on BJAODN with Goomba as the heading, thought it was hilarious and adopted it as my unofficial logo
Now, where to start with what's good about this...

Why AFL Stars Shouldn't Sing
Ok, this is a bit of fun staring two football players, both suffering lack of vocal talent. Who's worse, you tell me.

A list of Mario Games I have played (Not Including Remakes)
In No Particular Order
Games I have finished in bold.
- Paper Mario- See SMRPG.
- Super Smash Bros- Good, but not as good as its successors.
- Super Mario 64- Clunky, but revolutionary. The remake was rubbish.
- Yoshi's Story- Weird, but ok.
- Mario Kart Double Dash- Enjoyed the two-man kart idea, a step up on 64.
- Super Mario Sunshine(Haven't got all Shine Sprites yet)- Fun game, great levels and characters. Better than SM64.
- Super Smash Bros Melee (Have all characters/most levels)- Better than the original.
- Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour- Only played on demo models as shopping centres, but looks ok, better than the original.
- Mario Tennis: Power Tour- same as MGTT.
- Mario Kart Wii- The best Mario Kart game.
- Mario Party 8- Finally, a Mario Party game with some diversity.
- Super Mario Galaxy (120 stars with Mario, 46 with Luigi)- Best 3D Platformer ever! Love the gravity.
- Super Smash Bros Brawl (All characters/levels)- Slightly better than Melee, though missing some good levels. Best fighting game ever!
Wow, that's 49 games!
Fake Stuff
After reading the Fake Game section of the Fake News segment in the Shroom, I though up two of my own fake titles. I sent them to Hyper Guy, the writer of the Fake Game section and soon after, I thought up several more ideas, so I decided to put them here for your enjoyment.
ps. I'll make more when I think of them.
My Fake Catch Card
Template:Catch Card
My Fake Games
- - Template:Fakelink Mario and Friends (And enemies [and one-shot characters that should've never appeared again{And Characters from other timelines((And new characters created especially for this game that'll never make it into the main series))}]) compete against each other in mad knitting madness. Using the Wii remote and the nunchuck, duke it out with Mario and co. and learn to make jumpers along the way. Fun for the whole family (Minus the male side)
- - Template:Fakelink. After allegeations of peadophilia against the star children, angry soccer mums chase Yoshi. Use the Wii remote and nunchuck to make Yoshi run until you grow bored and the soccer mums catch him and have dinosaur tail for tea.
- - Template:Fakelink Unlike Dr. Mario, who is a kind-hearted doctor out to find a cure for the common cold (Good luck!), Dr. Bowser represents a true doctor, a mean one. He's the kind of GP who'd give you Mad Cow Disease vaccinations even though he knows you're a vegetarian, just to watch you cry! In the same vein as Grand Theft Auto and The Sims, you play an anti-hero whose aim to seek and annoy. Make life a misery for the unlucky occupants of the Mushroom Kingdom as you give them shots and reward them with stale lollies!
- -Template:Fakelink In their latest attempt at creating a game centred around a shoddy, seldom remebered sporting festival, after the Winter Olympics, the boffins at Sega have created this little number. You control a Shy Guy, a Fire bro, a Noki, Waluigi, a Chao, Charmy Bee, Froggy and one of those crab thingeys from Sonic the Hedgehog in a number of activities (Just like the real Commonwealth games, most of the main competetors are missing). And then there's the dream events. This time around, you can challenge yourself in the .5m Dream Diving, Sahara Desert Slalom and the table table tennis (Played with ball bearing and a jar-lid attached to a popstick) Price- Your credibility.
- - Template:Fakelink In a similar vein to Yoshi Topsy-Turvy, You tilt your Wii-remote to make Wario roll everywhere as an incentive to make him loose weight. (Also availible; Template:Fakelink and Template:Fakelink)
- - Template:Fakelink. In the 'much anticipated' fourth entry to the Super Smash Bros. series, you can play as much loved Nintendo characters like; Goomba, A SNES mouse, Magikarp and the Ocarina of Time. More third party characters are introduced, like Banjo, Gollum from LOTR, Larry from the Three Stooges, Bigfoot, Tom Sawyer, Ringo Starr and more. There's also a new story mode in which Banjo, Mario and co all fight against Master Hand and his minions until Ness points out that Banjo defected to the vicious Bill Gates, who is actually the main villian. Ness further adds that Master Hand had remained faithful to Nintendo since his creation. Bowser then turns into Giga Bowser and bites Banjo's head off.
- - Template:Fakelink. The fifth entry in this increasingly thin series brings such great new characters as Elmo, Shakespeare, Diego Maradonna, Mr. Tickle, a Bullet Bill, Navi the fairy from LoZ, Keeby (Who is, unsuprisingly, exactly the same as Kirby, leading to confusion over a yellow Kirby and a pink Keeby), The dog from Earthbound and an Electroplankton (Who emits annoying noises as an incentive for the other players to commit suicide. The story mode isn't much better, you battle another bunch of repetitive characters weilding weapons in a similar vein to the Primids from SSBB until you duke it out with Master and Crazy Hand, only to find a new enemy in their brother, Cynical Foot, who attacks you in numerous ways (Mostly invloving kicks and stomps) until Mr. Tickle arrives and saves the day by tickling the ticklish Cynical Foot. Then there's the stages. This entry includes; the cramped cockpit of an Arwing, the entire kingdom of Hyrule (Banned in all contests due to its size, the contents of Wario's stomach and Sesame Street (In which Oscar the Grouch springs out of his can as an obstruction.)
The Future
As time goes on I hope to get more Mario games and more consoles to play them on.
Until we meet again,
TIMMY TIM
