Star Power, (sometimes referred to as SP), is a special meter in the Paper Mario series. Every time Mario rescues a Star Spirit or collects a Crystal Star, his maximum Star Power goes up by one.
In Paper Mario, they are indicated by bars at the top of the screen. Each Star Spirit power uses from one to three SP. It takes eight turns of battle to fully recharge one SP bar. The player however can speed up this process by using the Focus-Command, letting Mario regain half of an SP bar in exchange for one turn.
