The '''Spiny Shroopa''' is the [[Shroob]] version of the [[Spiny]]. A Spiny Shroopa has a purple shell with pink spikes. Unlike Spinies, Spiny Shroopas stand on their hind legs. Also, small, gray arms stick out the front of a Spiny Shroopa's shell. A Spiny Shroopa's head stays inside its shell; as such, only its glowing yellow eyes remain visible. To move, Spiny Shroopas do not walk. Instead, they use their long hind legs, as they hop like frogs to move from place to place.

Template:Pitenemy The Spiny Shroopa is the Shroob version of the Spiny.

During the Shroob invasion of the Mushroom Kingdom in Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Spiny Shroopas were ordered to protect the Vim Factory. In battle, a Spiny Shroopa would attack by charging at an opponent. To counter-attack, Baby Mario and Baby Luigi had to hit the Spiny Shroopa with their Hammers as the monster approached. Sometimes, a Spiny Shroopa's charge attack could poison a Mario Bro. if it was not counter-attacked.

Trivia

  • Interestingly, if Baby Mario and Baby Luigi aren't present during the battle with the Spiny Shroopas, The Shroopa will, rather than leaping at one of the adults, roll into its egg shape and roll toward Mario where it is dodged by jumping.
  • If it is stomped once in its egg, it will stall then attack.
