Tackle is a move, sometimes similar to a jump, excepting that it does damage even from the side. The player can tackle an enemy or use it to slide down water ramps and hills. It doesn't work on all enemies though. It is used only in the 3-D platformers by the four Super Mario 64 DS characters. It is used in Super Mario Sunshine as well.
In the Mario Football series, a big hit was used by anyone to knock down the opponents. If a character tackles the opponent that has the soccer ball, the soccer ball will go flying and land somewhere in the field. However, tackling a character who does not have the ball will cause for the opponent team to receive an item.
