An Electrogoomba

An Electrogoomba is an enemy in Super Mario Galaxy. It is an alien, amphibious Goomba. They are seen in various parts of the game and they headbutt Mario when he approaches. In some cases, if Mario destroys some, a secret might be unveiled, as seen on the Space Boat, where Mario had to eliminate two of them to make a bridge appear. They can easily be squashed. When jumped on, a Coin is always left by them. When a Star Spin is used to defeat them, they leave three star bits.

Electrogoombas are odd-looking Goombas. They have smooth skin with a blue head and yellow spots all over there bodies. They have a rounded mouth like a Snifit and attack with headbutts and they also somtimes atack by running into you. Unlike regular Goombas, they only patrol a very small set area. They also have yellow,[somtimes red] glowing eyes and a small antenna on the top of their head.

A brown Electrogoomba.

One sub-species of Electrogoomba is a brown color. It is immobile, but can shoot projectiles at Mario, which include harmless coconuts that need to be hit back. They make a strange squeaking noise before they shoot. This variety often appears in pre-boss levels and serve as mini-bosses. Some brown Electrogoombas only shoot fire, and therefore Mario must use shells to destroy them. Another species is red, and shoots rocks from their tubular mouths.
