Tackle is similar to a Jump, except that it does damage even from the side. You can Tackle an enemy or use it to slide down water ramps and hills. It doesn't work on all enemies though. It is used only in the 3-D platformers by the four Super Mario 64 DS characters. It is used in Super Mario Sunshine too.

Toad tackles Mario in Super Mario Strikers.

In Super Mario Strikers this move was used by anyone to knock down the opponents. If a character tackles the opponent that has the soccer ball, the soccer ball will go flying and land somewhere in the field.
