Spinning Platforms of Doom, or Superstar Road-5, is the fifth course of Superstar Road in New Super Mario Bros. U. It is unlocked when the player collects every Star Coin in Soda Jungle.

Layout

The course's design is based off of Painted Swampland, and it begins near a Warp Pipe and a ? Block. A group of four moving platforms that simultaneously spin in a circle is found, with a ? Block in the center. The player must ride it above Poison Bog. At the end of the track, two hanging vines are found above the Poison Bog. A platform is found with Circling Boo Buddies in the middle. More Warp Pipes are found; some of them have Piranha Plants in them. A ? Block is found above one of them. A group of two spinning platforms is found on a track, surrounded by Circling Boo Buddies. Next is a ground platform, where some Brick Blocks, coins, and a Piranha Plant are found. The player must then ride across a swinging platform on a track which leads to the Goal Pole.

Star Coins

	The first Star Coin is located between two platforms surrounded by Circling Boo Buddies. The player needs a flight power-up such as a Super Acorn to reach this.
	The second Star Coin is found in between two spinning platforms that the player must ride.
	The third Star Coin is found in a secret area, accessed by entering a hidden blue Warp Pipe found in a wall beneath a Warp Pipe with a Piranha Plant in it. The player must wall jump across two platforms on tracks to collect the Star Coin.
