The player starts at the bow of the ship, after being told by [[Toad (species)|Toad]] to recover the [[Kings|King's]] [[Magic wand]]. This [[airship]] is broken up in several places and has many [[Bill Blaster|Turtle Cannon]]s firing [[Bullet Bill]]s, turrets firing [[Cannonball]]s, and [[Rocky Wrench]]es placed within the ship near the end of the level. About halfway through is the only power up in the level, and afterward are several [[Semisolid Platform|semisolid crate platforms]] the player has to use to get around a tall post, with this area being lined with Turtle Cannons. Entering the silver [[Warp Pipe]] at the end of the level will take the player to [[Morton|Morton Koopa Jr.]]'s chamber. Compared to [[Larry|Larry Koopa]] in the [[World 1-Airship (Super Mario Bros. 3)|previous airship level]], Morton Koopa Jr. is slower, but he fires his wand more frequently. While in the Palace, Toad tells Mario that the Mushroom King has transformed. He sends him on a quest to stop [[Morton Koopa Jr.]]. Shortly after, Mario boards the [[Airship]] of the [[Koopaling]]. This level is filled with [[Cannonball]]s and [[Bullet Bill]]s, and filled with enemies like the [[Rocky Wrench]]. After Mario enters the gray Warp Pipe at the end of the stage, he starts battling with [[Morton Koopa Jr.]]. He attacks by shooting energy blasts from his [[magic wand]]. After [[Morton Koopa Jr.]] has taken three hits, he will be defeated and leave the [[magic wand]] behind, which transforms the King back to his former self.

World 2-Airship is the ninth and final level of Desert Land in Super Mario Bros. 3, as well as being the second airship level in the game, which is unlocked by clearing World 2-Pyramid.

Layout
