File names

I'm mainly asking out of curiosity, but how do you get the internal file names for characters in the Paper Mario series? Nightwicked Bowser

Well, I guess we can do it if someone starts a project like that. I have a few one two from memory: "Guard, you fool!" That one appears in basically every battle during the enemy's turn. Heh, I remember that, too. Some of them are specific toward bosses while others are for a generic enemy or when Mario uses a certain item or weapon. Green Star 12:48, October 14, 2020 (EDT)

Your Thoughts

As I've been focusing on Super Mario Sunshine for some time now, I thought I'd finish up the miscellaneous section while waiting on the verdict for the more minor locations. I've referred to the Super Mario Bros. Encyclopedia for ones I may have missed, such as Skelefloor and Turbo doors, while making sure to mark them as conjectural. The encyclopedia also lists some other items I'm interested in, although some seem more necessary than others. Mind if I go through some of them with you and get your perspective on the matter? These are the ones in the encyclopedia I would even consider. Added my own suggestions and to what extent I feel they would justify.

Characters

• Bickering Piantas - Two squabbling Piantas often found around Delfino Plaza - actually not in the encyclopedia but suggested by Keyblade Master. I did find them at one point toward the end of the game just before the flood, after which they seem to disappear. I'm certain they can be found in other places around the plaza before this and will happily look into it.
• Beach restaurant Piantas - Yes, these are actually defined as characters, but there's absolutely nothing to differentiate them from the others, and since this does come from the encyclopedia, the very limited information that's there might actually be entirely false - such as the claim that they are married, running a shop with their children - unidentified. I suggest we skip this one.
• Isle Delfino Police Chief - As it would, the chief of Isle Delfino Police. This information is already on the article along with the rookie (see below) - he plays a big part at the beginning of the game and just sort of hangs around the police station after that. Throughout most of the game he mistakenly believes Mario is the culprit and seems to shake this off toward the end.
• Isle Delfino Police Rookie - The Isle Delfino Police rookie, always found next to the chief. I believe he actually has no dialogue unless spoken to, and is also under the idea Mario is the culprit. He's described as a rookie and a worrier here. Maybe, but most of this information can already be found on the aforementioned article.
• Ukulele Pianta - A Pianta in Ricco Harbor playing a happy, simple tune. There is another one of him throughout Pianta Village claiming to be his twin brother. Perhaps, although I would advise against articles for recurring characters who don't contribute or add much to the game overall, especially without anything to distinguish them.
• Dune Buddy - Currently a redirect, so this one is uncertain. He is found in Gelato Beach providing information on the Dune Buds, and if I recall, he also informs Mario of the hatching of the Sand Bird egg later on.
• Shell flautist - He plays in Pinna Park in front of the Buckies as well as "other places around Isle Delfino" - though I'll have to do some research with this one.
• Pinna Park worker - A blue Noki at the entrance of the park, usually telling Mario about whatever new or updated attraction they have there. Unlikely.
• Mommy Noki - So, this one is a bit interesting. The encyclopedia claims she may be the wife of the Noki grandson, who is important enough to have his own article. She is found at the start of both Noki Bay and Pinna Park in a very specific episode, though she'll still be easy to track down. I'll then see if anything she says is actually important information.
• Boathouse owner - Part of the Raccoon page - he owns the boathouse and gives Mario 24 Shine Sprites for 240 Blue Coins.
• Mudboat shack owner - Another raccoon who "owns" the mudboat rental shack in Noki Bay. Mudboats normally cost 90,000 (?) coins to rent, but he gives Mario a lease for free.

The only other ones excluding these are the items and obstacles, although there actually aren't that many to note. I think I'll leave it at this for now and see what you think. Thank you! Green Star 19:40, October 25, 2020 (EDT)

Whistle Snifit

Thank you for the information. I've added everything but the Green Energy Plant tracks to the lists. Although this might be splitting hairs, I can't tell at the moment whether those were just rerendered with audio filters, which I'm not sure the rendition criteria would cover, or also have new instruments layered on top. Minor edits

When making a large amount of small edits to a bunch of pages at once like that, you should mark them as minor. Not marking them floods the recent changes page with trivial, virtually identical edits that can't be conveniently hidden from view, inconveniencing anyone trying to look at recent edits. 17:01, July 28, 2021 (EDT)

TTYD Piranha Plant’s tattles

Sorry if I bother you, but I think that for the current Pale Piranha proposal the tattles in the various languages of the Pit of 100 Trials' Piranha Plant might be useful, as internal name and appearance suggest that said Piranha Plant was originally intended to be the actual Piranha Plant of Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Mole Screenshots

Hey, mind if I request some screenshots for Monty Mole species? Could you get a screenshot of the Rocky Wrench card in Color Splash in-action? Could you get a screenshot for Origami Rocky Wrenches in-battle in Origami King? Could you get a screenshot for the Monty Mole soccer shop and the Fun, Funky and Functional characters talking in the background of the ending cutscene in Origami King? Finally, if possible, could you get the full body Rocky Wrench sprites or a screenshot in Sticker Star (the spritesheet (https://www.spriters-resource.com/3ds/papermariostickerstar/sheet/65001/) does have feet sprites which means that at one point Rocky Wrenches could be fully seen. Oh ok, since you could rip the Rocky Wrench from Sticker Star, could you rip the models for Morty Mole (normal and squished), Rocky Wrench, and Monty Mole in Super Mario 3D Land? Also, the Big Montgomery, Monty Mole, and Monty Mole Patch models from Yoshi”s Wooly World (you can rip them from the 3ds version)? Spanish Dialogue

Hi, I saw your Spanish translations of Origami King dialogue and I thought it was pretty cool. I am wondering if there are any more differences to the Monty Mole dialogue? Mind providing most or all the Spanish Monty Mole and Rocky Wrench dialogue both non-translated and translated from that game (and also the origami Rocky Wrench description)? I think it could be good info to include on the Monty Mole pages. The main ones I would like are the lines for Monty Mole auctioneer that mentioned the bank and poor house to see if they made changes there. I would also like the dialogue for the Monty Mole that talks about his brother in the Breezy Tunnel Yoga room. Thanks for the help (I hope this is not to excessive for you). I've asked the admins about it but in the meantime, since the game comes out very soon, it should be okay removing them from mainspace and leaving them be. Deleting them would only making them hidden from public anyway; it doesn't actually delete them from the website and they'd be restored once the game is out, so no reuploading is necessary. New Subject template

There are several Important Item key sprites that haven't been uploaded yet. Here's what's missing so far:

• Storage Keys from Glitzville (gold, blue with upside-down triangular shape), they're no longer identical from the Shop Key, whose image file has been named incorrectly.
• Steeple Keys from Creepy Steeple (gray, purple with round shape)
• Station Key from Riverside Station (tan with three circles forming a triangle)
• Elevator Key from Riverside Station (orange with a jewel in it)

RE: Transclusions

That was all Mid188, I just gave them a nudge on how to organise them. Copy-pasting is fine for now, but transcluding is possible, and would be better to keep the information up to date all at once. I know it uses the markup below but unfortunately I'm currently not sure how to do that with tables without having to replace all of the tables' vertical bars | with {{!}} (my sandbox for reference - using vertical bars would make the table disappear).

PMTTYD 'Shroom Spotlight images

List of tattles in TTYD NS article

Would you mind if I went ahead and added all the enemy tattles (should be easy to do now that we have the Switch bestiary page)? Wanted to check with you first since it says it's under construction by you, plus I'm wondering where I should put the enemy tattles (like, should it be before or after Areas, etc) and if the enemy section should be organized by location or something else. Once we have a format down, I can easily copy and paste everything over.

Thanks for the reply! I don’t think it would be redundant to include enemy tattles considering the SPM list has them, plus they’re kind of drowned out by all the enemy stats on the bestiary page. I have some questions regarding a few of the predictions:

• You climb into the heights of the castle. You see many windows and a blue switch. You hit the switch and go forward, then hit another switch and go forward. But there is no third switch. Instead, you jump out the open window and proceed. Then the way opens...

These are both listed on your sandbox page, but the top one is word-for-word the same as in the GCN version. The second sounds like it's rewording it though, so is only the second one in the Switch version, or are they both in the Switch version?

This one is not in the sandbox and seemingly only in GCN. With the Switch remake adding more predictions, it seems odd for them to completely remove one and have no replacement for it. Did you forget to add it to the sandbox list, or was it really removed from the game?

The entire point behind the sentence openers is that it tells the bare minimum of a subject's role as the first and foremost thing to know about them, especially if they appear in multiple instances of media. Emulator Screenshots with wrong descriptions

While looking at Plum Park screenshots I noticed that their descriptions were incorrectly labeled as belonging to Violet Passage. Underwater Theme in Taiko no Tatsujin

Is your edit to Underwater Theme (New Super Mario Bros. Wii) correct? After listening to the track, I do not hear any occurrence of the Underwater Theme, and the Crossovers with Taiko no Tatsujin article does not mention the Underwater Theme either. B700465189a9 (talk) 18:44, March 23, 2025 (EDT)
