Okay, first of, what is GB? Or should I say, who is GB? It's a bit unclear. Anyways, GB, known in Japanese as GB-kun, is an enormous Game Boy seen in 9-Volt's room in ''WarioWare, inc: Mega Microgame$''. It's capable of speech (if "OK" counts as speech), has a robotic arm it uses to insert cartridges into itself?, and, again, is very large. Not only is it clearly not a normal Game Boy, but it's also anthropomorphized by the ''-kun'' honorific (compare Diskun) and ability to talk(?). Whatever this thing is, it should surely be split.

Add ons

Should I add the stuff about the game boy printer, camera, ect.? (note to self: game boy printer featured in comic Das Phantom der Piste)

How come we don't have the Game Boy Color. -Nerdy Guy

The Gameboy Color Is a seperat system. It already has a link, but it doesent need a section. Conconcon5 16:11, 1 January 2012 (EST)

The Lego + Game Boy Collaboration should be addded to "Appearances in the Super Mario franchise" section under Miscellaneous. TheRealL64 (talk) 05:46, January 13, 2025 (EST)

Support: split GB

  1. Blinker (talk) Per proposal. By the way, I'm always a bit confused about the identifier rules. Should this be GB (character) or would GB suffice?
  2. Pseudo (talk) Seems like this is a distinct character who is a Game Boy, rather than an ordinary example of a Game Boy. Per proposal.
  3. Super Mario RPG (talk) Per Blinker.
  4. Camwoodstock (talk) Per proposal. In regards to Blinker, we assume it would be GB (character), since GB is an abbreviation redirect for the Game Boy itself.
  5. Hewer (talk) OK
  6. ThePowerPlayer (talk) Per all.
  7. Rykitu (talk) Per all.
  8. Pizza Master (talk) Per all.

Oppose: do not split GB

Comments (GB?)

By "GB-kun", do you mean the one on the left in this image?

Yes. Well, technically "GB" is just a name in the cast roll but it's fairly obvious that that's what it's referring to, I think. Blinker (talk) 18:24, March 14, 2025 (EDT)
On identifiers: I've seen both, but usually a well-placed "about" template does the job. LinkTheLefty (talk) 11:00, March 15, 2025 (EDT)
I think it makes more sense to have "GB" redirect to the Game Boy article, and have GB-kun receive the character identifier. Both are Game Boys, and I assume people will look for the system itself when searching for GB, rather than the rather semi-obscure character that is also a Game Boy. It's like how "Peach" redirects to Princess Peach, and the fruit itself has the fruit identifier. ArendLogoTransparent.pngrend (talk) (edits) 11:16, March 15, 2025 (EDT)
