| Just to let you know, Miiverse screenshots are in the JPEG format. Converting them to PNG doesn't increase quality but rather increases file size because the artifacts that JPEGs have are preserved when converted to PNGs. It might make things easier for MarioWiki so someone can supply a properly sampled image later, but that is the only benefit that only applies to Wikis. PNGs, if saved from a raw source (like a bitmap), do not exhibit artifacts because a PNG is just a bitmap with a lossless compression algorithm applied to it. | [[:File:Green Gnarantula.png]] and [[:File:Red Gnarantula.png]] were at 18KB for such dimensionally small PNGs. That seemed very odd to me so I used [[User:RAP/PNG|PNG Monster]] to apply the best compression algorithm to them. PNG Monster said it reduced both of them down to 2.09% of its original file size. It may not seem like much but this reduces server strain and page load times. Under optimized PNGs add up over time. It's more fair for those who don't have as good download speeds.
