MC Ballyhoo, Mario Party 8

Candy Shops are stores found throughout the boards of Mario Party 8. These shops are where players can purchase Candies. Provided a player has at least five coins, they are allowed to enter a Candy Shop. Candy Shops are always run by the local residents of the board, which are Spear Guys in DK's Treetop Temple, Piantas on Goomba's Booty Boardwalk, Red Boos in King Boo's Haunted Hideaway, Shy Guys on Shy Guy's Perplex Express, Koopa Troopas in Koopa's Tycoon Town, and Toadies in Bowser's Warped Orbit.

Inside a Candy Shop, the player is presented with three Candies to choose from (if the player has fewer than 20 coins, two or even all three of the Candies may be identical). Candies usually cost between five to 20 coins, and they are sold at fixed prices. However, if a player's ranking is low, the Candy Shop they are visiting offers its Candies at a discounted price. Twice Candy is commonly sold in Candy Shops, but on occasions, a Candy Shop sells a variety of Candy such as Thrice Candy, Duelo Candy, and Bowlo Candy. However, the Candy Shop does not include some types of Candy, depending on the board. When the game reaches the last turn, the Candy Shops are closed.
