Gong Oh[1], alternatively spelled Gong-Oh[2][3] and also referred to as Gong Tiki[4], is a high-ranking member of the Tiki Tak Tribe. It is based off of a gong, with the metal piece on its head having a sun-like design.

History

Donkey Kong Country Returns (3D / HD)

In the opening cutscene of Donkey Kong Country Returns and its 3DS and Nintendo Switch ports, Gong Oh is seen hypnotizing a zebra. Later in the cutscene, it guides a group of animals pulling bananas past DK's Tree House.

Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong encounter Gong Oh in the final level of the Ruins world, Ruined Roost. When the Kongs approach Stu's egg, Gong Oh triggers statues to hit a giant gong in the background, breaking the floor beneath the Kongs' feet and cracking the egg. After the egg lands in a golden cauldron, Gong Oh hides inside it and hypnotizes the newly hatched Stu.

In the final level of the game, Tiki Tong Terror, Gong Oh and the other high-ranking members of the Tiki Tak Tribe are converted into hands for Tiki Tong.
