Durians are orange spikey Fruit in the game Super Mario Sunshine. Unknown to most players, this is an actual fruit from southeastern Asia and was designed accurately in the game.

Because of their thorn covered exterior, Mario cannot pick them up. He can however kick them like a soccer ball, as FLUDD explains. This would be hard in real life since Durians weigh around 10 lbs.

Dispite their spikes Yoshi's can still eat them, turning their skin purple.
