I think everything within a fictional medium that is derived from a real-life base is intuitively understood to be a representation of "X", and it is not a helpful clarification. The vast majority of the site is dedicated to fictional subjects. The only ones that are not, like those for the developers or voice actors, are readily apparent. For this case, a recurring fictional flower, it is the equivalent of saying "Donkey Kong is a representative of a gorilla in the Super Mario franchise", rather than saying "Donkey Kong is a gorilla in the Super Mario franchise".
