Name

So, this Toad runs both Toad's Automoboots and Toad's Automoboats. It's kind of strange to include only one, so should we change this page's name? Scrooge200 (talk) 20:11, August 22, 2020 (EDT)

ENGINEER = NOUN = (1) a person who designs, builds, or maintains engines, machines, or public works (2) the operator or supervisor of an engine, especially a railroad locomotive or the engine on an aircraft or ship. Possible official name

So, \romfs\msg\US_English_Final\msg.msbp lists styles and formatting for various characters. One of these is Kinopio_engineer. It comes between Kinopio_Sailor and Kinopio_Archeology, and the Toads are listed in order of appearance, so I'm pretty sure it refers to this one. Would "Engineer Kinopio" or "Engineer Toad" work as a name? (I'm actually not sure if we translate this or not, considering Informant Snifit does and Bridge Kinopio doesn't.) Also, this seems consistent with Color Splash.

I was going to just mark this as resolved due to inactivity, but this raises a good question... why is there inconsistency between Informant Snifit and Bridge Kinopio? Should the former be moved? I would also say sure to moving this page to "Kinopio engineer", though I do want to hear some more thoughts on this first. Technetium (talk) 15:45, October 30, 2024 (EDT)

Just as I thought I should go ahead and make the move to "Kinopio engineer" (as official names, even dev names, are preferrable to conjectural names), I realize the Sunset Express conductor would have to be renamed to "Engineer Kinopio"... yeah, I'm not sure what to do here.
