I'm wondering if we should mention that Koopley having a blue shell and shoes could be a reference to Kooper's design. Maybe his more darker, more orange skin tone too? It doesn't really make sense to me that the designers would make him look so different from his son otherwise. Now, it does make sense for his shell to be blue for the joke with Kolorado's dad (blue allows Korvallis's corpse to stand out more, and it couldn't be red due to the Red Bones and the fact that enemy Koopas have red shells). The thing is, it's Kolorado's dad specifically who also has a blue shell and shoes, and Kolorado is who Kooper looks up to the most, so there's that connection there, too. Plus, Koopley is much more like Kooper personality wise in terms of being all adventurous. Not to mention they probably would've designed Koopley before having Korvallis in mind, but who's to say. And disregarding all of this, Koops looks more related to Koopie Koo than his father due to his yellow skin. Koopley's darker, more orange skin has to be explicitly Kooper inspiration imo, since bones don't have any skin. So yeah, should we add this to the page (with a word like "possibly" being used)? ::While I'm aware this very well could be a coincidence, which is why I made a discussion instead of just editing the page, how is it a "massive" stretch? TTYD references PM64 all over the place, the same team made both. It's not like this is claiming, say, a character from Mario & Luigi is referencing a Paper Mario character design wise. And again, it doesn't make sense to me to have a parent look so different from their child in media - I love to see it, so I'm glad it's the case here, but family members having similar designs is a visual shorthand for the viewer to recognize easily that two characters are related. For example, look at [[Willma]], [[Maykit]], and [[Billdit]] from Brothership. So I don't see why they would've gone in this direction with Koopley if he's not meant to be referencing Kooper. That's just me though. This goes for character designs, too - look at how [[Lahla]] and [[Peeka]] have the same face as [[Lady Bow]] - there's even less of a connection between those characters than with Koopley and Kooper imo (I totally forgot to mention in the first message that Koops took a lot from Kooper gameplay wise, making Kooper a precursor or "father" in that regard, if I'm making any sense here).
