I moved this page back to Sand Block. Before you move it anywhere, please explain why "Sand Block" is an offensive name in any way. - Cobold (talk · contribs) 08:42, 17 January 2010 (EST)
- The mover was just being a douche. He has moved a lot of articles, actually. Hello, I'm Time Turner.
Move Donkey Kong info?

Given how they look in the remake and that they give little indication of being sand outside of Sunshine, I think the non-respawning Donkey Kong version might instead be Crumble Block. LinkTheLefty (talk) 22:21, September 19, 2023 (EDT)
- What's the Japanese name for Crumble Block? Because the ones in Donkey Kong '94 and Mario vs Donkey Kong are referred to by different Japanese names. PrincessPeachFan (talk) 13:14, October 9, 2023 (EDT)
- Don't know, but the internal filename in the remake is "BlockDisintegrate", which again doesn't indicate sand. LinkTheLefty (talk) 05:32, March 10, 2024 (EDT)
- Another update: here in this Nintendo Power article assisted by game director Yukimi Shimura, they're referred to as "crumbling blocks" in the Donkey Kong Jungle section and "crumbling walkway" in the Fire Mountain section. LinkTheLefty (talk) 13:55, April 11, 2024 (EDT)
- That sounds like it then. The remake also has these blocks look cracked, bearing a resemblance to the Crumble Blocks in the DS games, so I'd hard agree on moving the content to Crumble Block. --EleCyon (talk) 06:36, July 14, 2024 (EDT)
- Bumping this one again, has anyone resolved this question on the talkpage? --EleCyon (talk) 21:23, October 28, 2024 (EDT)
- I've done some work on one of the platforms part of this discussion, and cursorily, It seems like the relationship between it and these Crumble Blocks is analogous to the one between Cloud Lifts and Cloud Blocks, and I would prefer keeping them split. I know there is an example of one of these blocks being called a "crumbling walkway," but the impression I have is that that was an informal name adopted by Prima Games for the Super Mario Odyssey guidebook because they they swap it out with several other names in several instances.
- However, I think moving the other "sand" blocks here from the Donkey Kong games to the Crumble Block article is a great idea. - Nintendo101 (talk) 12:52, December 12, 2024 (EST)
