History[edit]

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games[edit]

Egg Pawns first appear in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. In the Wii version, Egg Pawns appear in Dream Race, where a pair of them appear as obstacles on the track moving at a slow speed. When the player collides with them, the Egg Pawns will explode and cause the character to be temporarily stunned lose speed, though the Egg Pawns will shortly respawn.

In the Nintendo DS version, regular Egg Pawns appear as targets in Dream Shooting, as well as a variety with a shield that take multiple shots to destroy. A giant Egg Pawn with a shield acts as a final boss for the event, which takes a large number of hits for the characters to defeat but awards a larger point score to the character that gets the last hit. Egg Pawns also appear as enemies for the player to hit in Shoot!, and as a character to be sorted in Conveyor Belt.

Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games[edit]

In Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, Egg Pawns appear as basic obstacles in both the Individual and Team versions of Dream Alpine and the Individual and Team versions of Dream Snowboard Cross, where they cause the player to fall over and lose speed when hit. The Egg Pawns can be destroyed if they hit by a character under the effects of the Super Star. Egg Pawns also appear in the second segment of the Sonic World version of Dream Figure Skating, where the characters jump from Springs to defeat them during the routine.

In the Nintendo DS version, Egg Pawns appear in Extreme Snowboarding, serving the same purpose as in the Wii version.
