[[Mario]] now finds himself in the first tower of the game. He starts out on a rising and lowering platform if which he stays on for long enough will reveal four coins. Mario then progresses encountering the first [[Dry Bones]] of the tower and the game. He keeps on going up finding two [[? Blocks]], one containing a [[coin]] and thge other either a [[Mushroom]] or [[Fire Flower]] depending on what form Mario is. Mario continues to progress up the tower but trying to be stopped by some platforms pushing out from the walls, if Mario is in between the platforms he will die. On the last one he encounters another Dry Bones. Still going up, he jumps up a couple of step like things, he then turns right encountering platforms trying to push down on him, he progresses up finding finding another set he then finally gets to the last one which he is on top of but he's not alone as he enconters another Dry Bones which Mario easily jumps on leaving it "dead" until it reforms. Mario also finds a [[Star Coin]] and two blocks, one a normal block and the other a ? block. The normal block contains coins and if the player keeps hitting it a Mushroom'll come out, in  another block there is a Mushroom or a Fire Flower. He then progresses up finding platforms pushing out of the wall which if Mario can get up them fast enough they will appear as a stair case. He goes up it finding himself in between a unusable door and a [[Warp Pipe]]. Mario goes in the warp pipe which is actually a [[Cannon]] and will shoot Mario up getting the check point.

Shell Mario is needed here. In the room with the Second Star Coin and shifting blocks, look carefully and you'll find a gap that never closes. Enter the gap. Bounce upwards to find a 1-up mushroom, then bounce 5 more blocks and jump on them. Start your Shell Dash! After clearing all the blocks, enter the pipe. Fall to the right after exiting, and jump onto the single block to garb another 1-up while unlocking the Warp Cannon which will shoot you all the way to World Five!!!!
