An intuitive way to understand why this strategy works is that hitting the solo player only at least 3 times or not at all eliminates all outcomes, where the solo player is hit only one or two times during the whole game and therefore still wins.)

This minigame does not have even chances for the solo player and team. If all picks are random, the team players only have roughly a 40% chance to win. The team players can improve their odds of winning to roughly 58% by picking the same hole to strike within each round, assuming the picks of the solo player are random.

Lost and Pound is a 1-vs.-3 minigame found in Super Mario Party Jamboree. Its name is a pun on "lost and found."

Introduction

Four holes on a machine open, and the solo player jumps out of the bottom hole. The hammer then moves to the west, to the north, and back to the west holes, hitting them in order as the solo player holds their hands together and closes their eyes.

Gameplay

The solo player chooses which hole to hide in, then the team of three must choose where to strike. After all players choose, the solo player jumps out of their selected hole while the hammer positions itself over the holes before swinging to hit them. The solo player has three lives, and if they are hit by the hammer, they lose one life. If the solo player manages to survive all three rounds without being hit three times, they win. If the team of three manages to hit the solo player three times, the team wins.

Ending

The players' characters are a bit farther from where the minigame takes place, where the winning team does their winning animations, while the losing team does their losing animation(s) behind them.
