The Great Gladiator Gig is a VHS release of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! It was released by Kids Klassics in September 1989. The VHS is 30 minutes long, and it contains the animated segment "The Great Gladiator Gig" alongside two live-action segments, "Wild Thing" and "Cher's Poochie."

The front cover showcases Mario and Luigi holding spears and shields within a Roman setting.

The Marios, the Princess, and Toad think they are going to a benefit Spaghetti Dinner at the Linguini Empire Colosseum to raise money for orphan mushrooms, but it's all a plot by the evil Emperor Augustus Septemberus Octoberus Koopa to feed the Marios to the lions.
